People who really want an X1 will get the X1. The impatient will get the "competition's" devices, for now, only to get the X1 when it is finally released. Maybe a small few of the impatient will be completely satisfied with the competition's devices and stick with them. A larger percentage of the impatient will still secretly lust for the X1 and end up getting one

I'm sure SE has something in store for the upcoming WM7 era too.

your wrong..
Am here to buy good phones and not just follow a particular brand or company.
I don't see any reason to buy xperia as WM7 is coming soon and still there is no news that we can upgrade WM 6.1 to WM7 in xperia. I liked WM7 and I have never used WM7, Xperia was my high priority in the list but it's too late now I can't just wait and spend $700 behind WM 6.1 and then after few months again spend $700 for WM7. Well for me this makes NO SENSE !!!
and this is the reason I bought E71 CHEAP AND NICE

My signature still says Nokia sucks.. yeah I don't like any phones of nokia besides E71. I like E71 it's got a good proccessor and internal GPS which was very important to me. I come from India to USA for 6 months and still I waited for 2 weeks in USA for xperia but no news. Anyway that's history..

I still say Sony Ericsson makes quality cell phones, Xperia is going to be one of the best cell phones too but am looking forward to WM7 and if sony ericsson has any plans for that am all ready for that cause I have saved my money for Sony Ericsson WM7

Where are you going to get your X1 from? I'm thinking of going the Expansys pre-order route but I'm in the US.

I pre-ordered from Expansys. X1i should work in most parts of the states, unless you live out in rural areas. Here's an AT&T U.S. frequency map.

Oh please don't leave once you get your X1 as I'm eager to see just how well the X1 lives up to your expectations or not. I'm sure you'll have lots more questions one you have it in your hand as to how it does or why it doesn't do certain things you thought it would.

O.K., I'll stay and dedicate all of my posts to convincing you to buy an X1

I doubt if I'll have questions as I learn pretty quickly and Windows is no mystery to me. My old HP iPaq was a cinch to learn.

I'm pretty sure once it's released the X1 owners thread will be even bigger than this one is. But if you really believe this is going to be a mass selling device i just think you are wrong as it is never meant to be that.

As I stated before, I don't think it's going to be a huge seller compared to iPhone, but as far as WM phones go, it should do well.

It should sell much as the other WM devices if it is not buggy... You know, it's the first phone running WM. It may be unstable. but no one knows for sure. We will see when it's out.

Yeah !! like I have heard HTC phones are bit buggy but I think it will be good enough as it does not matter it's the first WM phone for SE. SE is best at it, i know we have faced bugs earlier but SE had always come out with goood firmwares.

Am sure soon there is going to be X2 or something, just like P900 to P910i
Hope for the best !!

In all cases except arguably the P990, you could qualify his statement with the word "eventually".

tbh, most Nokia firmware comes out a bit dodgy too and benefit's from a firmware update post purchase. However Nokia seem to be a bit quicker at bringing out firmware fixes than SE these days.

...and that's the major difference between the two manufacturers.
