Funny thing that anyone is so keen on mult-touch (or dual touch whatever you wanna call it). Ok, it might help a bit when typing fast. But what else is the use of it? Pan to zoom? That might look nice, but is completely useless imo. Dubble tap zooming is far more convinent and in the verry few cases you need another zoom niveau, you can use the + and - keys, which works a bit less simple than panning, but is far more precise and you won't use it much anyway
It's for fast typing and applications that need multiple simultaneous or fast inputs. It has nothing to do with zooming really.
Ok, I didn't think of the apps, but luckily there are not extremely much of those. But I have to admit, that's a negative point

As per my question earlier today [By silentstorm (8 posts) on 2010-03-28 14:20:00 to forum Android.] Does anyone have info regarding Voice Activated Dialing- (VAD) on X10. Any insight into this matter would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

In the UK online I try:
eXpansys.com
play.com
ebay
In shops (carphonewarehouse/network stores/phones4u etc) it should be within a couple days. I'd guess certainly by the end of the week.

On the multi-touch thing, I heard the hardware is good for it but SE have intentionally limited the capability. Whether that be down to 1.6 not having native support and they didn't have time to write it in themselves or whether apple are looming with potential court cases over patent issues I'm not sure...
Only 12 days till I have my baby in my hands..
12 days till Xmas.. er.. X10

There's definitely a lack of clarity on the dual-touch issue. This needs to be sorted out and the community informed of the hard facts (is the X10 hardware dual-touch capable).
We need to keep our heads cool on the matter until it's clarified.

From the horse's mouth:

To me the first answer clearly indicates that it's possible but not implemented yet, but may also not be implemented in the future.
Really, what's all the fuss about with the touch thing? Maybe if/when X10 gets multi-touch we'll see a revival of the traditional two-fingered salute which has in in recent years been replaced a solitary middle finger.

I have a kite into synaptics to see if they will confirm anything. Probably not if I had to guess but nothing to lose by asking.

Thanks for your answers Moogoo and Nitro Fan. My iniial post - By silentstorm (8 posts) on 2010-03-28 14:20:00 to forum Android - was more detailed and I don't have enough space on this reply to paste it. I'm reading on Voda.co.uk and CNET that X10 has Voice dial and on Cellphones.ca and GMS Arena that it doesn't. I don't know what to believe. Perhaps anyone who has a X10 or as soon as they get one, you can check if voice dialing and specifically bluetooth headset voice dialing is capable. I'de appreciate, any X10 owners that will post their findings on this subject. Thanks again in advance everyone!
