Afternoon, fellas!
@marlonski - I hate to break it to ya mate, but your "special forces" don't look like it can scare a 70-pound boy. And with a harmless dog like that...
Nice vertical pano. However Max is right, the different exposures can be seen due to diff. lighting conditions top to bottom.
@max - When you say adjusting the exposure (as in your very nice moon shots), do you mean using the volume button, i.e., brightness adjustment? Btw, I used Neat Image to cut down on the noise a bit but not too much -- I actually like the noise on b&w pics. But for the mother/baby pic I didn't do any noise reduction. I blurred that shot by walking fast by them, giving it a "charcoal painting" effect.
I think it was @carkitter who first posted a vertical panorama many pages back. Then doc thug with the waterfalls.
@ciberknight - Nice sunset shot! We have a place here called Fort Bonifacio and it looks very similar to where you took your pic.

the tree almost came alive when I walked past it, agree, sometimes noiseware just kills a picture.
@dr_thug, it was your vertical shot a couple of pages ago that inspired me to use the pan that way
@chili, agree, taking this type of shot picks up the different levels of light, in the case of the tree, the whereabouts of the sun in relation to where I was taking the picture from, the reflection of light through the branches and so on. The other issue I have found with the pan mode is an element of luck is required to both match the light conditions , and sometimes trying to match the last section of a picture, and in some cases, with the sun refecting on the k700's screen almost impossible. But hey, thats all part of the fun
Special forces outfit, thats me winter 'walk the dog outfit', I posted the picture of me in my special ops above that one, only problem was it's too stealth for you guys to see it !! as for my dog mate, he would lick you to death

@chili, correcto mundo. Through the binocs (now a monoc!) I found that on normal exposure the moon was a big white blob of light - no detail.
With practice I hope to get my technique better, and I should be able to get even better detail, and reduce the reflected images somewhat (although they look very spectacular)
The problem is getting the monocular eye piece just the right distance and angle to the lense..

I took these photos some days ago, within minutes of each other. It was morning. What struck me about the three of them was that they were determined to get their sleep, regardless of where they were, and no one would have dared rouse them. My shutter sound was never a liability this time.

Here's some more experimental moon shots..
In this instance I'm getting reflected light from inside the lense creating a ghost image of the moon that actually has visible detail, as opposed to the actual moon, which is just a big white glare..
and here
I forgot I had the cam on low res and by the time I was back on vga, clouds had come in, but cut the glare sufficiently to reveal detail also:

yes. Fine mode uses less compression, so there are less obvious compression artifacts in the picture (distortion and fuzziness). Basically, fine mode recommened unless you only view the pics on the phone.
