Can anybody recommend me some good dvd r/rw i am using an intel macbook pro and decided to back up some of my csi dvd's so i used mactheripper which was fine and then dragged the video-ts file into toast.
It compressed it fine as the full extraction was 7.7gb then when it came to write the disc i got an error halfway through something about sense drive, hardware failure. I have looked it up and it seems to be the type of media you use (i used philips dvd+rw)
Also it took nearly and hour for toast to compress the file and then stated another 15 minutes to write, is this normal? If not should i use another program to compress it and then just use toast to burn if so which program?
I am going to go to staples later so if anybody can recommend a brand that would be great. Thanks.

Anyone at all? I keep getting errors all the time i have used dvd2oneX to compress the video-ts file to save toast doing it and then tried using toast to burn but i am still getting error messages.
I have tried both philips dvd+r and dvd+rw and philips dvd-rw and the same thing happens on both i have used this media before and had no problem but not for burning video-ts file, am i using the wrong type of something this is so annoying.
Was thinking of trying the apple dvd-r media but it is rather expensive, has anyone used it before the reviews on the apple website seem good but it is around £2 for each dvd-r.

We have used the Apple media in the past and not had any problems, but as you say its expensive.
Currently we're using Intenso DVD-R's and have no failures yet.

You might want to check on the Apple site to see if there's a SuperDrive firmware update applicible to your drive. They often increase compatibility with media.

Cheers Jools have not spotted anything on the apple site and nothing is mentioned when i run update software from my macbook, will keep my eye out though. I am tempted just to pay out and get the apple media as i know i would have no problems with it just very pricey, thanks for the link will check that out now.

I just bought some apple dvd-r will get it next week will let you know what it is like. It was £35 delivered for a 25 spindle better than the £45 apple charge but a little cheaper neverless.
Thanks Luke but i managed to find mine buried under a heap of clothes lol, forgot i had backed them up, cheers though.
By the way what is the resolution for wallpaper on a 15inch macbook pro i am wanting to make a wallpaper, but when i use any 1024 x 768 they are blurry and do not fit nicely centered?
Thanks

i believe the resolution is 1680/1050 but im not sure right now im using a 20" display, but it should work.
One thing to be considered is its not just resolution that matters, the actual size of the image makes a difference. you can have a tiny pic with a very high resolution, or a large pic with a low resolution, its just gota be right overall

Ok nice one thanks. Also i have alot of songs i want to put into itunes so i labelled them all individually like so:
1 - Artist - Song
Right up to:
94 - Artist - Song
Then i dragged the folder into itunes as usual but instead of the songs being labelled as above they must be tagged and do not show up as i labelled them, is there anyway around this without renaming them all again once there in itunes or some kind of software that shows how they have been tagged?
