My main guesses as to why the phone(s) are the size they are, is because the screen is larger (not meaning the resolution, but the physical length, width etc), and because of the incorporation of 3G into the phone.
I still think that it would be possible to perform a DIY job on the K790i and turn it into a K800i, probably be cheaper than buying a K800i.

Or it might not be.
Take off the K790i's cover, and you might find a small empty space and connector to place a replacement K800i video camera, and then attach a K800i faceplate, and flash the phone to use the new hardware..
You never know..

@arez - How can you say the n80 and k800 will not be direct rivals?
They are similarly 'specced' with 3mp cam, 3g...
They will be similarly priced, i see the n80 being a big rival to the k800..

@ arj2442 - i think Arez's point is that fact the N80 is a smartphone.
The P990i is a smartphone, but you wouldnt compare it to the K750i, or the K790i/K800i, because they're different phones aimed at different audiences.

Well I think the brand "Cybershot" explains SE's main aim with this phone... video quality should be improved.

i may be a bit behind here, but what evidence is there that these two phones have a bad video capture... i'd think that surely if its a 3.2mp camera, 'cybershot' branded and a big screen, there is no reason why video would be bad and not fit the entire screen. if a specs site says so, i'd say that was a typo, i mean the phone isn't even out yet, so nobody can really know what the finished product has to offer. to be honest at the minimum the phones will have a video capture that will fit the screen, if not most of it, and its bound to be improved even if its not amazing, how could it not be since there's a 3.2mp cam.
