ARGGHHH Still no update.
How long does it take to modify a firmware with two bloody voda screens and repackage?
Pull your fingers out of your bottoms voda.
i also have the voda branded model.
how do i go about updating the firmware (once it's released) ?
also, is it just the voda startup/shutdown screens which make the branded model different from the generic ?

Tried to fool SEUS to update my Voda P990 with Generic World firmware but it wouldn't let me!
The Voda P990's wheel does feel different, the wheel is a little stiffer and there is better feedback for each turn - not better or worst than the generic P990 but just different. Otherwise no other obvious physical differences.

Wrote to Vodafone UK to ask about when/why we can't gat the latest firmware (in a rather detailed email labeled "Technical Question"). And here's the answer...
"Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Service about the latest firmware for your phone.
I’m sorry to learn you have been experiencing difficulties and regret any inconvenience caused.
I wish to tell you that your phone is a new model and posses the latest software.
It may be due to some virus that has infected your phone.
I suggest you visit any of our Vodafone Retail Stores with your phone."
Talk about having no idea what they're talking about... :-~

Sounds like an automated e-mail reply . They must be fed up with too many complaint messages about P990

WTF are they talking about. If you went into a store and babbled that crap... they show you the door! ha ha
Really no clue from VF with that reply TBH. It's almost embarrassing!

ok people - advice really is needed
i am currently on orange paying 35 squid on average a month and im due a handset upgrade since march - have been waiting for p990 - they told me they guess it will cost me 50 quid to get a p990 on my current tariff
but my voda store has p990 in stock waitng to be bought - should i cancel orange and go with voda? whats the best price plan for around 35 quid mark a month? hanset price on voda etc? or so do i sit tight and wait for orange even longer and get their dolphin 35 package with unlimited texts?
im so unsure what to do!
