hi whentheleveebreaks,

just make sure you know how to flash it back to the original ROM should you need to return it back to voda for warranty purposes, else your warranty is void

all you have to do is to read and understand the steps to flash your ROM, a flaw may brick your TYTN II though

Hi all

Just been reading over @All About Symbian Steve Litchfield has done a podcast comparison of the TYTN 11 and the E90 and although the result is quite close the E90 come out the winner but he does have some fairly hard criticism's of the TYTN11. I haven't watched it yet but will do soon apparently from the comments in the thread the TYTN screen takes a bit of a bashing. Please no one jump to any conclusions i am not bashing the TYTYN 11, i nearly bought one but got a better deal on the E90 and now a days i prefer non touchscreen devices and the larger keyboard and screen. Not saying there is anything wrong with the TYTN just not the right choice for me is all.

@jakontil

In the latest firmware release for the E90 A-GPS is added so it now gets faster locks, i am still waiting for 02 to deliver my E90 now expected around the 15th but don't intend using the internal GPS anyway A-GPS or not IMO inbuilt GPS is not the best solution not by a long way IMO.

Marc

I can't watch the podcast at the mo, but I'm surprised to hear the screen takes a bashing. It is what we all know it is - a 2.8" QVGA touchscreen with 65k colours - obviously the E90's screen is bigger and more colourful, but that doesn't mean there's anything "wrong" with the Tytn II's.

Although the Tytn's technically has less colours than the M600i I replaced it with, I find the screen more pleasant to look at, and I don't notice the lack of colours at all. Regardless of paper spec, I'd pick the Tytn II's screen every time. For a touchscreen, it's very good in sunlight too.

According to the comments I've read, the reviewer was "dissapointed" with the Kaiser - that seems odd to me. To me, it's one of those well rounded products that literally "does what it says on the tin" - you know what you're getting with WM6, good GPS, reasonable camera, keyboard etc... there are no significant bugs, and physically it's as solid and well made as all the pictures suggest. Unless he was expecting to open the box and find an E90, what's there to be dissapointed about?

hi masseur, thanks for reaffirming what i did, works very fine now, and with the big storage, i have no fear of running out! thanks again and now i got another sandisk, like the free card reader, matches a macbook well!

hi dogmann, sounds good that nokia has improved its gps locking signal through a firmware release, should make the e90 a great piece of device, used it for few weeks before making a slight profit selling it. it's crazy down here, people are so in love with communicator, just for an info, here's the place where e90 was sold for the first time in the world, and the fund went to unicef which is a good thing.

hi boinng, imo the screen is not a problem, it's pretty good and i have nothing against it. i thought tytn II have done quite well to satisfy most users. above all i havent been hearing people shout aloud about major bugs so far, which is a good thing, and may be the reasons why it was delayed.
