Apologies if this has been answered before but if I want to upgrade firmware on p1i do I just need to perform the back up function on the sony software first then away I go?
Cheers
p.s I am also one of the many sufferers of the squeeky keyboard!

@gbrooks3
I did look into your(?) software and even tried clicking and downloading a few of the links but since I quickly realised I had no idea what I was doing, I quickly decided to leave things alone and wait. I didn't know even the basics like whether I was supposed to download on my phone or on my PC and nothing would open the .rar files. Your idiot's guide was still beyond me, I'm afraid!!
@ares
I had all sorts of trouble with a non GW P990 so before buying the P1, I specified to Clove that it had to be a GW phone. Of course when it arrived I forgot to check and only found out when I tried to update. By then I had already scratched it so I didn't think I could return it. Anyway, someone pointed out that retailers have no way of telling if the phones they are selling are GW. Not sure if this is true.

Or if not, I am preparing a manual anyway

I'm in bed with horrible flu so will be out of action for the next few days. Maybe by then your manual will be out! Thanks for the offer anyway.

Ok, I think I have found out one fix SE did in the second firmware of P1i - they have fixed the not-always or well working call log. Before update, while using Advanced Call manager, I often was unable to see a person trying to call me that got rejected by Advanced Call Manager. Now the call log sees and registers all connection attempts.

@701: I really don't want to get on your nerves, but for me Advanced Call Manager failing to register call attempts in the builtin call log register is totally useless... I have been suggested to upgrade firmware by the producer of the ACM by the way...
