I hope this bit of info is true although it seems a bit too soon to be true:-P I hope they launch it by the 2nd week of Dec atleast..
btw..a guy from O2, known as FCW on xda developers has said on the x8 2.1 discussion thread that the update will roll out in 2 weeks..
He also confirmed that we won't get 2.2 ( I certainly hope we do
)

I really hope we do. Did you guys see how much faster HTC Legend (which is practically identical in hardware with the X8, except for RAM) became with the 2.2 update
