The sales of Neo has now officially started in Sweden, much earlier than what was previously expected.

I don't like what I'm reading here about the camera quality.

The 8.1-megapixel camera with LED flash is one of the main selling points of the Xperia neo. What's so special about it? Sony claims that the EXMOR R sensor improves significantly low-light performance. In our view, though, it ranked rather average as colors looked slightly washed out, while most of the images we took looked undersharpened and weren't as rich in detail as we would expect from an 8-megapixel camera. The camera managed to handle well contrasting objects, but we could notice that sometimes it picked up side light and overexposed pictures. Surprisingly enough, low-lit scenes - where we expected to see the handset outshine competition - lacked sharpness, especially when we used the flash, and noise was also prevalent.

When it comes to video recording, you have 720p HD capture at 30 frames per second. You can also use the LED flash to illuminate nightly scenes. We weren't all that happy to see the same issue with undersharpened footage and disappointing overall quality.

I stopped reading phonearena a while ago.

This is what GSM Arena has to say:
The image quality is a mixed-bag. There’s enough of fine detail in the Xperia Neo shots, but it’s a lot lower of what we saw on the Arc’s images. The color rendering is good, but the noise levels are too high and in some places you can observe the so-called staircase effect. We really hoped for much better than that.

The videos run smooth, but have the same problems as the still images. This time they are virtually identical to those by the Xperia Arc. The resolved detail is good, the noise levels are kept low, but the staircase effect is visible on too much places as it was on the Arc

At least the image/video quality is not as ba as phonearena claims it to be.

Don't trust them so much. Open their Picture compare tool (or however it's called) and compare Arc and Neo. I even noticed that Neo does a better job than Arc at taking pics.
Edit: here's a proof for that:

They did say Arc's pictures are better.

Yes I know but the camera samples show exactly the opposite thing.

But doesn't both Arc, Neo and Pro have the exact same hardware and software when it comes to camera?

Oh, you're right. I didn't look at the labels.
The umbrella one looks a tad oversharpened though on the Neo. Still better than blurry if you ask me...

got the Rii BT mini-keyboard last week : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJzjrFRwouQ

actually got it for my iPod touch but it's compatible with Android phones too. Intended to hold out for the Xperia mini pro2 but the Neo is now available locally. Visiting a Sony shop this week, let's see if I can make up mind.
