What's keepin them from announcing in January and releasing in March then? Their development cycles are also a mess.

When you look at the bill of materials, S10 5g's ram is cheaper despite being higher capacity. There's just a couple of months between regular s10s. So at least one reason for the delay must be cost related.

Having all the components before the event doesn't change the fact that Sony is months late to production.

seems like Sony Mobile Communications Inc will be dissolved, and merged into Sony Electronics as a business unit like headphone and walkman player business unit in 2020

Samsung Semicon sells to Samsung Mobile for cheaper price they charge from other.
Same happens to battery, screen, storage, ram , cpu and camera.
In-house is always cheaper.

Reason S+ costs less than iphone max. Usually even Note is cheaper than iphone.
When it comes to bill of materials.

I do not know about ram, but storage from Xperia 1 is Toshiba.

According to Bloomberg, Sony's smartphone (Xperia), based on worldwide shipments announced by IDC in the US, accounted for 0.167% of the global market share for the July-September quarter this year.

On the other hand, Ichiro Takagi, managing director of Sony, stated that it will continue to be “essential for maximizing synergies” in the smartphone business. He also commented that the next generation of Xperia is developing a “premium and smartphone that combines all-inclusive power”.

Probably machine translation messing it up. It must mean the usual "strengths form all divisions", you know RNR from Alpha, X Reality from Bravia, Cinema Pro from CineAlta etc.

Sony Mobile had until 2020 to be profitable again. This was mentioned since Kaz was CEO, I guess it's time to give it all or just die. Zack says IF they are still alive, they'll be absorbed by Sony Electronics. He also says this will prevent the "sale" of the division.

Yes, probably means more integration between products.
Working with Alpha for photos.
CineAlta for videos.
Bravia team for screen.
I hope Audio team too.

Wow that seems great news! ~ sort of like a mini computer with all built in from the best of Sony :
- design
- Walkman
- alpha camera
- Bravia display
- movies
- artificial intelligence
- computer and their programmers

Let's not forget months ago there was one with 5040 x 2160. I have never seen fake uaprof.
Weird the fact I only seen uaprof of sony on internet.
No site reports from other brands.

3 new models for mwc. But one of the model names have "J" suggesting it's from this year. This also coincide with the androidnext article that said "Xperia XZ2 compact → Xperia 3 (3 rear camera 5G 2K) (Coming Soon)."
Now it makes sense to name this 3, since it'll have sd865 and 5g.
