As many others will say, it's well worth the wait mate. What a bargain!

Well 18 or so pages later and there we have it... the majority, it seems are happy once again!...
Congratulations to all of you who got one through the door and will do for the nest few days... we all love that Stork hey !
Ady... that's one less pressie for Santa to bring now then, he will be pleased i am sure! (I wonder if OSPS would treat him similarly?:-))
12-16 hours to charge... well if you have waited weeks, moving into months, for the damned thing to arrive, you just as well wait a few more hours to charge it properly... YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO SEND IT BACK NOW WOULD YOU? 'cos of a dodgy battery thats empty in an hour...
Best make sure you look after it as this must be the worst time of year to buy something like this... think of all the late night parties (P900 and alcohol...i.e. being dropped in it, do not good partners make), and the trips in taxis (keep a careful eye on the belt clip of the accompanying case!), whilst sage and onion stuffing will have not a nasty, but rather irremovable, habit of getting into the corners of yer screen (worse still could be the lodging of your beloved (the phone of course) up the rear end of the said Turkey a la Mr Bean's head... Just check before putting it into the oven, thats all i'll say!)

Does "Stand By Me" get bonus points ?
back on topic, if the only interest is in the hardware and
not in the contract is not the cheapest way to get a P900
to go for a free phone on a high tariff that can be
reduced immediately ?
I gather that it is possible to do this through O2, Link and
Carphone warehouse outlets.
Is it also possible to do through their online stores ?
Or should I just stick with the highly praised OSPS.

Wooohooo, finally after much badgering of OSPS, chasing their ever illusive sales staff and even having to pay orange a 600quid deposit before they would authorise the connection we now have the tracking number for our batch of phones.
Hey it only took over a month.....

After MUCH phoning over the last couple of days, I at last have a tracking number for my replacement P900 - only a 5 weeks since I sent it back. They did cancel my contract with Orange when they realised they wouldn't get any in for a while, so I only had to pay £3 for the few days usage I got out of it

OSPS had a bad run with the P900. They dealt with the situation badly: the fact that they employ what can only be described as a red-arsed monkey colony did not prove effective at all.
But at least we're all getting our phones at last.
Cheers.

My P900 arrived at 8:00 am this morning (saturday) - works perfectly, and is squeak free at the moment (my old one squeaked right out of the box).

@carlhunt, be carefull about buying a phone contract to downgrade imediatly, i would only do it if buying through CPW when getting an Orange contract, as most of the other dealers will put a note in the contract about reclaiming the money from you, OSPS have a clause that warns you not to do it, someone on here did downgrade successfully early on o2, but they could get a nasty bill when it is spotted.
