I can't understand why the mobile networks of this country try so hard to keep secrets from their customers. Today I phoned 3 direct sales to be told they have 2 new phones coming soon. The LG U8150 will be coming out in July and the SE Z1010 is also coming soon though there is no specific date. I followed this with a call to the 3 store on Oxfiord Street and was told that the Z1010 is due any day and the U8150 will come out some time after it. It is now pathetic.

This might explain the blue Z1010

Interestingly they are quoting a stndby time of 295 hours and a talk of time of 11.5 hours.

I'd very much like a Z1010 with at least a megapixel camera

three.co.uk and carphone warehouse finally admit that it has been a long wait but they are DEFENITLEY released in july/august. The z1010 is in the cpw mag and the three shops in town have made it official. i am so excited! i may not be able to get the phone but i can still have a go. i am supportive to

. the colour in the carphone warehouse mag is a slate gray colour. i think it is an improvement on the red. i wish there was a blue one coming out!

Interesting information Vanquish and thanks as ever. The CPW mag states the date as August. 3 direct sales don't know their ass from their elbow and have said the Z1010 is coming in July. A "friendly" manager at a 3 Point store has now asked me to stop calling him to discuss future releases as the information I am seeking is highly confidential and he is not able to discuss it with me anymore. He did comment on mid-July as the date to watch out for, but it is worth waiting 2 weeks for all the bugs to be ironed out and the price to drop (drastically). Also he did not know of the LG U8150 and 3 direct who told me about the handset are now saying they do not know of the LG U8150. SHAMBLES is what come to mind. Finally the guy from whom I borrowed a Z1010 on 3 in the UK has been informed that Wednesday 7 July 2004 is the release date. SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

Further to my earlier post regarding the Z1010 being released by 3 on Wednesday (7/7/04), I have been advised that this is to get a headstart on Vodafone who are reportedly (source the guy from 3) releasing their 3G phone service and the said handset on Monday 12 July 2004.
www.3g.co.uk are saying Vodafone will release in October 2004, so who knows, as ever. How true I don't know and considering none of the 3 resellers know anything or aren't allowed to say anything about the Z1010, I am suspicious about the Wednesday release to start with, so maybe Vodafone will be first afterall. Not long to wait...as the cliche goes, but here's watching.
