I have taken a look at Setool.net and I am confused to say the least. From whom to we obtain credits from and how many are likely to be needed due to think to remove branding etc from phone as I assume that is all we need to do because we have O2 phones.
I was thinking about getting the DSS25 and Unlocking cable from Mobilefun.co.uk, the price of the DSS25 is very reasonable. They also offer an unlocking service which costs £8.95 for the S700i but you need to purchase the unlocking cable.
I have attempted to click on the SEUS link for the S700i in IE6 and I get the "Welcome to SEUS..." but underneath that nothing, I have attached a screen grab to show you, would this be right without the DSS25 in place, I tried Firefox but the link redirects me back to the SE Home Page, weird I thought.
Do you know or indeed does anyone else know if I could easily damage my phone during this process.

-yeh, it seems theres quite a lot to take in when it comes to debranding/updating phones. gbrooks seems to be the guy to go for for credits here. as far as i can see it takes only 1 credit to debrand which also updates the firmware.
-as for the problem with SEUS, i got the same "Welcome to SEUS..." but underneath that nothing, so i uninstalled java from my computer then reinstalled it...and it worked fine, i know its odd but it works now so i didnt really care why it wasnt before. when u click the link it downloads the SEUS cliet, a checklist and goes through some disclaimers (not nesc. in that order) then it loaded a sperate program window, and if the dss isnt plugged in it warns u.
-guess u cud damage ur phone, but its only software so it can virtually always be fixed again:D

If I may offer a word of advice. If you do not have it already, download and install Netscape. It is better at Java than MSIE, and does not have the security holes that MSIE is famous for. More importantly it has NEVER failed me when I performed an upgrade of my phones via SEUS.

I forgot about Opera. It is okay as well, but you have to remember to download Java with it.

You guys have explained it perfectly.
But if i could just add, it is more or less impossible to kill a phone with software, only way is by hammer, brick or run over by car

Krubach,
Of course

but its just if he wants to help you

There is a statement on Setool that forum that your phone will never be supported, but maybe you will be an exception to the rule
And anyway there are tools other that Setool
