@Shotokan
C6902 - HSPA+ Only
L39H - Same as the above, but China Designated
C6906 - LTE, NA Designated
C6903 - LTE, Europe Designated
C6943 - Same as the above aside, but based on white paper, no H.265 encoding
SOL32 - AU KDDI
SO-01F - Docomo
The model number for Sony phones are carrier specific in Japan and does not follow conventional model numbers for other parts of the world. Linked to each model numbers are their respective white paper. Couldn't find the white paper for Docomo's or AU KDDI's model, so no idea what are the difference aside from branding and carrier apps. Sorry.

@MNX - yea my feelings exactly. I am hoping it will help me check my phone less, which will be great for in the car. I also want to check out the remote camera app as I've got a tripod holster for my Z1 and a "put almost anywhere" type tripod. It'll help take some fun shots I couldn't get normally. I just love watches too, so I'm looking forward to having a new one to wear..
@shotokan - i believe Asia gets C6902.. europe/global is C6903, North America is C6906. Those are the LTE models.
@gitaroo - as myP910 said.. the change from G.1 to G.2 shows a fairly decent update. With every increase to the number/letter to the right, the bigger the change.

I thought C903 is the only one that does H 265 decoding. Non of them does encoding?

For those who are interested in some of the shots I've took on my Z1. Here it is:

By the way, with some of the photos, you'll see how the Z1 dealt with strong backlights.

Thanks MNX!
Also, I posted a hands on video of the Docomo Z1 a few pages back, it had a firmware with an H letter.
I have played with one Z1 in a docomo store, but the settings area was password protected, so i could not check the firmware.
I wonder if there will be camera improvements. After all, Aurelius said Lund wanted to do it but Tokyo was satisfied with the current results. I am afraid Tokyo may have more weight, and in particular when it comes to the Japan model.

WOO HOO..
the new update is full of camera updates!
tweaked the camera algorithm for even better all round performance
refined Sony’s Smart Social Camera platform, so Xperia Camera apps run more smoothly (particularly Burst Mode, Superior Auto, AR Effect and Sweep Panorama…)
