Sony Tablet S/P and Xperia Tablet S were developed by SONY(perhaps VAIO team).
Xpera Tablet Z is develoed by SONY Mobile.

I now think the best Sony strategy would be to start 1 flagship per year. I mean, the Z/ZL. Also, launch the next years flagship in q1, announced at MWC, pre-order the same day, released a week later.
And a phablet in q3.
Both should beat Samsung products to release, and be competitive.

Bad. XV was delayed into irrelevance, XT/XTX have serious quality control issues and were released so close to the upcoming 2013 1H phones.

The new tablet seems very thin - 266.0 × 172.0 × 6.9mm. Even thinner than the Xperia Z (7.9mm).
