From both sources.
I work with Xperia and Sony (not just smartphone but whole range of product, like PS, Bravia, SRDG, SCSL,...) softwares for some years now and have some direct contacts with developers, companies and carriers related to Sony...
The infos i gathered, then combine with info online like patents and interview, result in what u have now...
Thanks for clarifying
I too used to work for Sony, but just in tech/customer support so I never really had anything to leak, lol
So... wacha think of the Z9F? 10,000 nits?
Z9F and A1F, X1 Ultimate, i guess....

I knew it was going to happen.
Just compare U11 and U11+ for example.
Downgrade from 16MP to 8MP.
Check on gsmarena the samples of XZ against XZ2 selfie. Ignore XZ1 and its permanent beauty mode even when it is off.
Difference is ridiculous in favor of XZ.
In the end , the only benefit of AMBIENTE FLOW is ergonomy. Screen to body ratio is same of XA2.
Worse selfie camera compare even to L2.
Black bars when you play some games or watch videos.
I was a bit disappointed when I saw renders of XA2/XA2U, but they turned out to be much better in reality.
I think both look way better than xz2.
I like the loop.
Question : Ultra has always had OIS on front, but at night still shoots high ISO. Why?
@spek What was the main reason to kill Z, M and C? You still find ppl out there waiting for a Z6.
.

OIS wobble effect due to micro-movements, so fast shutter speed high ISO to counter for wobbling effect...
Z,M,C consolidated into L, XA, X and XZ series...
Reason I think the old lineup overlapped a lot, and ppl having a hard time to choose what they want...

I'm sorry everyone, but I have to ask these off-topic questions to him:
So, both new TVs are Z9F and A1F? Judging by their names, they'll be launched at IFA, right?

More like IFA 2019, right now IFA 2018 too soon for 8K HDR for LCD and 4K HDR for OLED, cant make the A8F owners feeling betrayed...

Trying to teach us about the camera module? Lol
Color me skeptical but no real contact comes and says hey I worked for almost all the divisions in sony lol. Not even the CEO does that.
The truth is the front cam is average. It also lost auto focus and the aperture got smaller too. And btw thickness is not a problem in Xz2 as its plenty thick in that area.

I can't see them not launching a Z9F at IFA 2018, simply because the Z9D will already be 2 years old by then. I'm not expecting it to be 8K or 10,000 nits, but I am expecting it to be an upgrade over the Z9D to keep pace with the competition.
As for a new OLED, I can only imagine they'd launch one when LG has an actual upgraded panel to offer. I'm sure the X1 Ultimate will help a lot, but I don't think that's enough to make a new flagship OLED all on its own.
As for the front facing cameras, I do wonder... if they're aiming to improve the rear camera with extreme low light shooting and dual cameras, what're the chances they're aiming to do the same with the front? Not necessarily using the same sensors as the back, but either using a camera setup for improved low low light, or doing a dual camera setup?

@josephnero stop being a dick here please.
@spektykles - I do not doubt that Sony front camera sensors are bigger and thicker then the competition, the point is that Sony's front cameras are not better then Samsung's even though they are bigger (bigger should mean it could fit more features and better quality).

So having an opinion is being dick? The new front cam is 1/5 so it's as small as possible for a flagship.
