Are we sure about that? Sony has very general specs on their website, so anything (everything) spec wise that can't be proven through using the phone is up in the air in my books. They cheaped out on the touchscreen sensor, it's very possible they cheaped out on the screen itself too.

I don't know what you guys are bickering all about. I tried the phone yesterday and it's simply fantastic. I couldn't find any usability issues. Screen's great, camera's great and the interface is fast and looks good.
You should give the phone a try first before judging so harshly.
PS. Tried the mini as well. It's wonderful!

it has been confirmed. but as nightblade has just stated... who cares? go try it out. multi-touch or not, if you find yourself not being able to use it because you can't use two or more fingers, then the X10 is not for you. But otherwise, who cares? I've never been a fan of pinch zoom. I kinda like the implementation they have on the x10 mini. anyway... being in the US, chances are very, very slim to none that i will get to try it out before i get it. So, i'm buying the x10 based on reviews and impressions of those who have it in their hands now.
@emunee... you can get the X10i (black or white) for $715 shipped off ebay. and prices are dropping each week as more people start selling it and they lower their prices to compete.

Since i don't need no stinkin MULTI-TOUCH i'll be buying my x10 tomorrow and i'll walk out of the store with a huge smile on my face. Since i previously owned a "Tmobile G1" aka "HTC Dream" and a Motorola Cliq aka "DEXT" i'll feel right at home because none of those phones ran "Android 2.nothing" and i felt confortable with both phones.
FELLOW ESATOERS, BEFORE BASHING THE PHONE PLEASE TRY IT, I KNOW MOST OF YOU HAVEN'T AND TRUST ME, IT'S AWESOME!!!

They can't try it or the very least buy it. Cause they're still stuck with their current phone on contract. Again, as long as you're happy with your purchase none of us here can argue with you. Peace.

if it gets Dual Touch, ie, pinch to zoom, will that please people?
Multi-touch is the use of more than 2 fingers, neither of which the Desire or Nexus one support afaik? They only have doul touch...
Id say at the very least we'd get dual touch... time will tell when we get that update!
US launch to come with 2.1?

Hi,
Just thinking, about multi-touch vs dual touch. Isn't multi touch defined as the use of more than 1 finger? So, so called "dual touch" is actually multi-touch as you are using more than one finger. when you pinch and zoom would that not be multi-touch as you use two fingers to do the pinch. This would be in contrast to single touch, where you tap to zoom in and out?
Cheers,

well, yes
But the Clear Pad 2000 only supports 'dual-touch' afaik (ie pinch to zoom) and Clear Pad 3000 allows the use of more than 2.
I understand what you are saying and is definately true, guess its just the way people are explaining the 2.... can be a little confusing...
