@>500: SE has made it clear that hardware is capable of singletouch only! Nothing will change with updates.

But the Clear Pad 2000 only supports 'dual-touch' afaik (ie pinch to zoom) and Clear Pad 3000 allows the use of more than
See where you are coming from. The CP3000 is quite neat. Check out the demo:

I like the "crumple" and the "finger" lock for PIN.
Cheers,

At least SE came thru with the details. And to think even 'shift' operations will be impossible on the X10 keyboard. Seal must be really laughing at this.
CP3000 looks really interesting obakesan. Wonder when they can bring it to the masses.

Wow, that crumple feature is cool. That is where multi-touch becomes fun

masses.
Exactly. I don't give a sh*t about pinch-zoom. But the loss of keyboard functionality due to lack of multi-touch (no holding shift, potential miss-clicks as the keyboard can't handle typing too fast where you may touch one key as you are still touching another), and the fact the X10 will be left in the cold as new software takes advantage and relies on multi-touch more and more will be killer.
I was planning to own this phone for at least the next 2 years. Though the lack of MT would have little negative effect now (we all knew MT wouldn't work until 2.1 anyway), over the life of this phone it will be a serious drawback.

i don't see how even with just single touch, shift operations are rendered impossible? Even on iphone keyboard, which is multi-touch, you hit the shift key and the entire keyboard changes to whatever it should be (i.e., a -> A). Essentially, this is a single touch operation. But, I can see how it could become a problem if you start typing TOO fast and input might get messed up.
I'm personally not that fast with a touch screen qwerty (i use it on my itouch all the time) so I'm not too concerned.
