It is the next ultra cause sony just confirmed it = "the next big thing".
so the leaked metal frame was of the new ultra, not z3... it has the same dimensions of the leaks.
i hope that the new ultra will get the z2's camera and flash.

Hmmmm, ramu said there might never be a Z Ultra successor for this year or ever.

seeing the pics it just looks like the leaked Profile

it looks like it will have a metal unibody with the semi-frame inserted... this make it looks thinner...
LOL the I/O button will be even smaller...

it is the next gen of z ultra or z3, why? cause it has a camera key, so it cant be a tablet

Could this mystery device use the SD 805? The Z Ultra was the first device from Sony to use the SD 800 so would probably seem logical providing Qualcomm have the chip ready for use.

I am sure it is just the angle or the style here, but it almost looks like 2 pieces of glass, sandwitching metal in the middle. Personally not sure what I'd prefer, z ultra or 8 inch tablet.

If the device ships with QHD, then the SD805 would make sense.

If its anywhere near 7 inches, then using as a phone will look like this.

whatever it is in the end, I hope Sony didn't opt to cripple the camera and add no flash or not opt for the 20.7 sensor.

edit, teaser timeline seems to be similar as with previous ZU, if anything is too leak, should be in the next 2-3 weeks.

As per some leaks z2/z3 ultra will have pretty much same size as z ultra but will house a bigger screen!
And as ultra series is meant for 1 year cycle it would be much more logical for Sony to go with the latest S805 in it.
That would mean S805 in z3 too at IFA unless Sony wants to dive away from two flagship/yr strategy.

Could this be the screen in the the next Z Ultra or what ever that device is? Found it on the JDI website, the only thing that would'nt add up would be a smaller screen @ 6.2 inch.

http://www.j-display.com/english/news/2013/20131024.html

Screen size (diagonal) 6.2-inch (15.8cm)
Number of pixels 1440(x RGB) x 2560 (WQHD)
Resolution density 473ppi
Dimensions 80.18mm(W) x 146.73mm(H) x 1.65mm(D)
Dead-band top1.0mm side1.0mm
NTSC ratio 70%
Contrast ratio 1000:1 (Typ.)
Viewing angle >160 degree(CR>100:1)

I guess that's the iPad mini rival.

7-8" display
SD801
3GB RAM
