So I'm not alone on that.
About bokeh score I'm certain that will keep XZ2 from going to the top 3. Shame. Wish they focused on quality instead of adding zoom and bokeh score.

I think the video is default setting too. I dont remember if by default EIS comes on or off.
XZP got 87 of stabilization, while Z5, XZ and Xpf were way above 90.
No way it scores less than iphone.

Well on all my phones after fresh rom installation the video stabilization is on intelligent active mode which is only for extreme movements and downgrades the quality a bit. Standard mode should be selected for review IMHO.

I'm not sure why, but in half the pics the P20 Pro is really blowing out the highlights (leaf pic, city pic with boats and water in the foreground, white flowers, first and second selfie at the end). Don't think I've seen this issue with the P20 Pro in the other pics I've seen, is this a trend?
In terms of zoom and night pics it blows the XZ2 out of the water, and details on the selfie cam are better on the P20 Pro, but the Xperia seems to be better at just capturing a more natural, balanced image that doesn't blow out the highlights and maintains more detail in the shadows.

Remember Chinese people love beauty mode. That's why all Chinese manufacturers have extreme softening selfie modes
However if the so called AI stabilizing works without OIS( Huawei claim not mine) then I would love to see something similar on Pro/ premium.

That is why I dont get it.
Steady Shot can correct even movement caused by running.
Why just for videos?
Some ppl dont know but EIS works better on cameras with higher resolution.
About the DxO, I think it is weird when a review comes out on the day a phone is announced.
They have OP6, phone may be announced this month.
It started with Pixel, then U11, iphones , pixel 2, mate 10 pro, s9+ and p20 pro.
They did not test XZ1, it was supposed to score more because of better software and AF than XZP.
It never happened before.
Since Z1, only XZs and XZ1 were forgotten.

If EIS is better than OIS then I'm curious why SONY will add it OIS on the next model...
Maybe less resolution ?

It isn't. It just isn't.
EDIT:
Also regarding the talk about selfie cameras. Ya'll are talking about resolution like it matters. All them selfies will be uploaded at like 1000x1000 or 2000x2000 max on Instagram and will more than likely be filtered through the ass.
5 Mpx is fine. Sensor size is more important.
That all having been said, a downgrade is not good. The XZ2 should not have a single worse component than the XZ1. That other manufacturers use inferior sensors is irrelevant. Sony should hold themselves to higher standards.
I'd like to see a 5Mpx 1/3.5" or 1/4" sensor for the front facing. Nice big pixels for decent low-light performance.
Also customary note that they better nice bring the headphone jack back. Its exclusion is baffling and the reasoning for it is nothing short of insulting.

EIS is better for videos.
OIS is better when you need slow shutter.
They dont replace each other.

No SDM846 or any speed-boosted variant of SDM845. Why? Because its not on the list. Only SDM855 for 2019 and maybe SDM1000 for 2020?
