In store........just kept on asking 'and what else?'. I think offering 2go 18 month contract clinched it really as the extra commission the salesperson earns is quite significant...........I work for mobile network so have good insight into 'the deals'.

Oh, and it is the last day of Quarter 3 tomorrow....which is always a big sales-push day to get that extra bonus commissions!

Just spoke to Orange, and the latest is 'start to mid October', although that may become 'November'(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I'm seriously considering going Vodafone/SIM-free and flogging the Orange one when it finally arrives.

On an unrelated note, when does my picture become colourvision, instead of greyed out? I'm over the 10 posts now.

Do you guys know how many Vodaphone subscribers are there in the UK alone ?

I'd say, not less than 20 million perhaps ?

If Voda were to make minimum of £10 quid/year from each subscriber,
(£10 profit/year being a very low number, I'd probably guess they make much more profit than that)

they'd make like £200.000.000 profit every year ..... woowwwww

So think better when you are making new contracts, they are already earning way too much, they will accept your offers if you push them alittle

the P990 no longer has the "Coming Soon" tag on the UK SE Site (non corporate site)! I guess we should expect the rest of the UK operators to start selling the device pretty soon...finally!

@doublecheese

your assumption of Vodafone having a 100% profit margin is a little off, i agree that operators are making everything to increase the ARPU but not that much

I feel relly conned now compared to all these deals. I signed new contract for 18mtns, £30 a month with 200 mins, 250 texts, stc, hplr for 3 months. £100 for phone. I went into vodafone store and its my first contract after being on payt for years. I guess there is nothing i can do about it now.

I went to Vodafone in Ealing, West London today and the salesman said that Vodafone have exclusivity on the P990i until December now. They got an email on Saturday regarding it but it had been deleted, how convenient!!!

i really doubt Orange would have posted the P990 on the website as Coming Soon if they knew Vodafone would have exclusivity rights for such a long period.

Plus SE wouldn't have allowed the period to be extended so much when they know that Vodafone is only the third largest operator in the UK after Orange and O2, which would mean lower sales.
