amenno i think u r having terrible problem with the latest firmware? did u reflash it? by the way if i cant restore them to a new upgrated FW then whats the need of this backup and restore thing?

I don`t have any contact or anything special in my phone as i only use it to play vids,listen to the radio,internet,etcDon`t make no calls on it.I make calls on another phone.Going o flash it one more time,then wait till the next firmware is released.

but ares if we cant restore the phone after a new FW update when the phone is completely flashed then whats the importance of backup and restore thing? none of u done this thing after this FW upgrade?

i only advise people not to restore old backups if they are experiencing problems with the new firmware that others donīt have....

hmm i will update with my dial up connection which is only 5.7kBps 3 hours later from now! i heard it take 60 to 70 MB to download. so i think i need 4 to 5 hours to complete the whole procedure. but i have no other option in my town. so i will do it. i am bit nervous though. but people wish me luck. bye....

I had the alarm bug in R4 and after getting R5,i restored and got the alarm bug in R5 too...am planning to restore again such that i dont get the bug back this time.Which should i avoid restoring to prevent from getting the alarm bug - Calender or settings??

OK. So I did some other things. Maybe this will help ya:
1. I organized my contacts in the phone the way I wanted to (pix, voice tags, and all)
2. Then, I deleted ALL the PC contacts
3. I force synchronized (in advanced sync - Overwrite PC) the contacts from the phone to PC
4. In Outlook, I went in ALL the contacts and I switched in the Files As field from Last, First to First Last
5. Synchronized normal this time (I have keep contacs in [hone and overwrite PC as a setting as I said before)
6 Second time no changes detected and no duplicates; pix are just fine.
This just worked out for me. But hell yeah, it's a lot of work considering I have 500 contacts.
