I collected my P1i today and it's currently charging-up, tempting me with its sleek black+silver form! Does anybody have an opinion as to whether its really necessary to charge for 12 hours the first time, or should I give into temptation and start playing with it as soon as the "battery full" indicator comes on?? The wait is hard to endure but I also want to prolong the maximum life of the battery...what do you think?

I've never charged my new phones directly and have never encounted any problems with it

Thanks Leks. I think I'm with you on that...the temptation of a new phone to play with is too hard to resist! I think the key is to let the battery drain completely before recharging it every once in a while. Btw, I'm surprised at how sleek and light the P1i is; thought it would be bulkier.

question for all of you lucky enough to be holding the P1i. How is the video play quality on it, has anyone loaded a movie clip and viewed it? Im curious to know because im considering getting the w960i because it offers 30fps video playback "tv" quaility. However that keyboard on the P1i is hard to resist and if it will play video well or as good as the w960i theres no sense in waiting till w960i release, when i can cuddle up with the p1i within a few short days.

At last have started putting thinks back in the box! I'm glad to see the return of the cloth and leather case, and also the GPS is a welcome edition!

I personally am going to give this phone a miss though and opt to replace my W950 with the W960 and wait to replace the P990 with its eventual successor!

Just got my phone....first impressions are that the build is awesome and it looks so beautiful. Was able to use it outdoors today, but the only complaint so far is the fact that with 220mhz processor, it still takes a little time to open the applications initially. Oh well, maybe the P3 will have a new processor.
