so you think that:
480*854
1gHz CPU + GPU
256MB RAM
700MB ROM + 32GB+ MicroSDHC
is not aimed at the top of the market?
cuz if not then im confused ...
let me just put it this way, if you wanted each pixel to show different colors you would run out of colors before pixels. thats unacceptable in this day and age when the satio is sitting pretty with 16M ...
for one flying minute that shouldnt make sense.
262K (or 65K
) vs 16M on a device already out. there is a lack of clarity and vision within SE to see how this is rediculous.

No i dont.
Sure the specs in the hardware department may seem high. But then, why only a 8mp camera ? why not a true-colour screen ? why not Android 2.0 ?
If SE really wanted to make this the top of the table phone, they would concentrate not only on what is important to the geeks, but what is also important to the joe average consumer. No ?

I think its a very good phone.
What i also think is people on this thread seem to think this phone is aimed at being the top dog in the mobile phone world. From the specs alone, clearly SE have no intention of making it so.
+1 unfortunately yes ..
i miss p800 days...

So with 65k colors you have in fact just as good green as with 262k colors. Only the red and blue is problematic. That's why the blue-ish problem in x10 screen !
So there is pretty simple solution for
: just change the color of their UI to green!

@sealover94 32gb microsdhc cards (+ being however large they get in the next 8-12months)
@etaab i understand the 8.1mpx with satio placed right there as well as the EU part, and not cannibalizing sales of another device. and your right why not have a xvYCC screen?
and if they pander to the geeks average joe is ultimately covered, i dont get that argument, its the same with firefox and its stance on tabs. if you dev a phone to the TOP then the little things are covered for average joe, then again who cares what he thinks if he doesnt know about it hes not getting the most utility out of the device anyway and probably purchasing it at the end of the lifecycle for $99 at walmart ... im not concerned about his concerns because if you remember average joe thought the razr was a good device ...
they need to change the screen, they should be embarrassed (b.w the P900 coming out in 2003 having the same color and the Satio having 16M as a contemporary device) there should be no reason to have this conversation. its pathetic. it only bugs me because the message is so mixed from the marketing team who i wouldnt ever trust to the whitesheets (thank you engineers! who know whats up) that its no wonder that the phone is the materialization of that confusion. Screen Color and Compass were the last things i would think that wed be talkin about today.
and to tell the truth android 1.6 isnt that bad, i dont care about the things i can change myself, that includes multitouch w/ android 2.0

Look, the point im making is pretty simple.
Experia devices such as the X10's forefathers have never been aimed at joe average. Thats why they lack hardware and software features you would find in a phone like the Satio, or a N97, or an iPhone. Even the styling isnt something you'd imagine appealing to everyone. Look at the X1 - Windows mobile, very good at what it does but the most boring mobile OS ive used, ever.
I believe the X10 is yet another niche handset. I do support SE but i believe they're releasing this far too late and pretty soon HTC will have something with far better specs.
You could say i see this phone as rather
pointless
