I have no idea but its not the screen for sure cos I just listened close up in a quiet room. Nothing. The static noise not buzzing is also only in left speaker side. I assume it is stereo sound cos it sounded stereo to me as sounds were going from one side to the other on my pc. But as I said noise is not that loud. Later on I shall upload a video to You Tube from my Pro.

Hopefully this link works I just opened a new You Tube channel. I did a video on the golf course & you can hear the sound if you turn it up. What I think it sounds like is a cricket. Maybe one got stuck in production

But I can assure you it's not the screen for sure. And in this video my brothers 2nd shot is awful
@pt020 that's interesting I'll try that later on

yeah i agree with Bonovox i have kept the screen on and listened to the phone as well...and nope....there is no static sound whatsoever....it only appears when i record a video...and the volume isnt too bad so doesn't bother me too much!
other than that i m very happy with this phone...altho at the moment i m so excited about it....i use it constantly and havent yet got the battery to last me the whole day...lol...but the way i use it at the moment i don't expect it to...hopefully after a few days when the novelty has worn out a bit it should last a bit longer!
other than that...well the interface is very fast and fluid...definitely comparable to samsung galaxy s2 may be not quite iphone4 tho especially in homescreen probably because i have a lot of widgets loaded on and stuff i do get a little bit of jitter at times! may be the ice cream sandwich update when that comes may eventually fix the slight jitteriness as that brings more gpu based animations and stuff

Yes it is fast & no real issues so far so it's thumbs up for
for the Pro. My battery so far I have made it last 2 days at one point but only just. As for the cricket sound it is not very loud & not really bothersome to me.

Has anyone tried unchecking the "noise suppression" in call settings?
It seems when it's on to increase the volume of static noise.

Does anybody know if the Xperia Mini has the static background noise the same as the pro?

No there is no static noise during calls. I already said a hundred times it's only during video recording. As for the Mini having the noise the answer is no

Hey guys, just got my mini (st15i) in the mail a few days ago. It's great! Everyone seems to compliment the phone's compactness. For my purposes it's more than enough, although I must admit that battery life is a bit weak (but that may be just because I've been fooling around with it non stop
). I should say that RAM seems to run out pretty quickly should you be a widget junkie like me, but as long as you have good memory management the phone works pretty smoothly.
Have a good one.
