I know we're OT on this whole Crystal LED thing (unless of course it's considered a potential future display tech for mobile, in which case it's on topic
), but I was just reading this article and the last paragraph was a little interesting:
http://translate.google.ca/tr[....]MMfz0gHJ5oDwCA&ved=0CEUQ7gEwAg
I don't know if it might be something lost in translation, but it seems to imply that AUO is manufacturing the Crystal LED components. I might be mis-reading the article, so anyone else can comment on this?

I'm guessing Sony gets 6.65 million units this quarter

Just a reminder guys - I only posted the 7 million based on IDC data. It may be more than 7 million too. 2 more days left for the official figures to be released by Sony.
I personally think it should be more than 7, even 8+ as Q2 figures were mostly just Xperia S, U, Sola, P. Q3 includes Acro S and Go and few other phones which have done well. Also Forbes estimate for Sony Q3 is 8+ million units and 11 million units for Q4.
@vivftp
No, they just mention that AUO is now supplying LED panels to Sony. Crystal LED components Sony is sourcing from Nanoco technologies apparently.

@randomuser
Do you know what's Sony stance on its tablet series? Does the tablets have the same priority as the mobile phones? Logically, the new tablet would have higher specs than Yuga/Odin, right?
I also gonna try my luck in answering your quiz
. Since Sony plans to sell 34 million units by FY13 and already sold 7.4 million in Q1, there are 26.6 million left for Q2,3,4. Assuming Q4>>Q3>Q2, so the number will be
7.98 million units.

God, how I hope this is how thin the bezel of Odin/Yuga would be.
AUO demonstrates world's thinnest-bezel display
Also, 7.41 million.

To be honest i think when holding a 5 inch display and trying to reach the corners with such a thin bezel i would probably touch the screen in other areas.... But true, its damn sexy.
Is there absolutely no news concerning the V? I will be in Europe from mid nov. until 3 dec. and was really hoping to pick one up...
I guess 8.5mill thanks to the price drop of the S, P, U etc....

Anything to do with AUO is something to get excited as Sony and AUO are pretty much in a "high level" partnership for mobile screens, LCD panels for Bravia/Vaio, and OLED panels.

Nanoco is a company which produces quantum dot materials. It's no secret that they have been collaborating with a major japanese corporation since 2009 as stated in their website. Are you suggesting that the Crystal LED is actually a nanocrystal technology? in other words quantum dot technology?
check out this post i made from april http://www.avsforum.com/t/1405411/sony-crystal-led-quantum-dot
My take on the bet is 6.9 million units btw.
