Maybe they plan to not disable it anymore.

The old phones (K600 all the way through to Aino and Satio give or take a few models) used to have an FM Radio app, I seem to remember you have to have the headset attached as it doubled as an antenna.

@Hawk12
I didn't know it is a disabled feature though, I would have thought that even if the hardware were disabled it'd have to be declared to the FCC, unless you mean software disabled due to the lack of hardware.

It's not really a done thing anywhere in the industry in the android era, except for some niche models. I wonder if the FM Radio is making a return.

Or, it could just be an entry error and we'll see a corrected application shortly.

I think the advent of streaming services and internet radio apps spent the end of the built in FM Receiver, which also saw the demise of the music app.

Bit strange to see it making a comeback, surely it's a niche feature now.

PY7-15465A is a low end Xperia with Mediatek Helio something. I dont have any solid info yet

The "2022 "announcement day is delayed further, not only happens to Sony

Shall we be expecting a new Sony E6?

My first reaction was maybe a 5G enabled Walkman - which I would be interested in.

Sometimes a Hi-Res audio output streaming device which is separate from my phone is a nice-to-have.

I recently bought a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones.

Not a chance it would be a Walkman. Audio products generally are filed under "AK8", a different grantee code (Sony Group Corporation). Sony have multiple ones for each product group, "PY7" is generally for Xperia and other products made by the (formerly SoMC) Sony Corporation.
The software on the Walkman are not even made by SoMC, same with Bravia.

The new walkmans have already appeared on the FCC, YY1298 and YY1299 last year, with wifi as well.

OEMs could still ship phones with FM radio, but they have disabled for years. Why? Zero idea.

L1/L2 = same cpu
L3/L4 = same cpu

Ace has taken place of L series. Would not be surprised if Ace 3 has P35 again. At least could do favor and make it without notch. Too ugly. Sony should have kept 8 series, make it bit better than 10.

E5 was so cute. I'd love to have a "E6" as 2nd device. With 5.8" HD, SD480, 4/64GB, 3200mAh/18W, single 12MP 1/2.3".

Is mark 1 getting or not android 12? There is this browser benchmark, but dont know if it is real or fake.
