Batesie not all american are brainwashed thats true,but the republicans are akin to modern day nazi's!!..They will kill as many innocent civilians and torture as many innocent people in order to achive there objectives..FACTS:Prisoners tortured and Abu Ghraib,Child abuse and Rape of Women in custody by american troops in Iraq,systematic Torture of prisoners at Guantanemo bay with access not allowed to Red Cross and amnesty international..So you tell me patrick if you leader and his followers are not nazi's what are they?...just another variation of nazi's..I spoken with many u,.s troops serving in iraq in chat rooms and they have told me they enjoyed killing dirty muslims...So patrick seek the real facts!!

I see nothing wrong with reading between the lines. The question was "did anything good happen since Bush became president?" You agree that Saddam was bad. Saddam is no longer in power. So that is at least one thing that is good. Maybe you don't like what has replaced Saddam - but unless you're ready to say that Saddam was better than what is there now ... you have to admit that at least one good thing has happened since Bush took office. And I do appreciate your having stating so.
And as for your "Facts" ... can I please ask you to point us to some evidence? A credible web page perhaps? See, the thing is, I just don't agree with your assertion that they are "Facts". I happen to think they are more like twisted versions of complicated events spattered with your own political ideology. If not, I'd be happy to see your proof.

Climate change is a far bigger threat than global terrorism, according to Tony Blair's chief scientific advisor, Sir David King.
King has caused a storm with his comments, published in a guest editorial in Science magazine in January. He has criticised the lack of action by the Bush Administration, and clearly labelled ExxonMobil (Esso) as a company trying to undermine the scientific concensus in the US on climate change.
After his editorial, King led a team of UK scientists visit to the US, where they went to Seattle and to Washington to talk about climate change.
"On climate change Britain has now taken a leadership position. We are working very hard with governments in Russia, Australia and the US to push the Kyoto agenda. None of these countries have signed up and we'd like to get them signed up," he told the BBC's Radio 4 "Today" programme.
King has been outspoken about the US's failure to sign up to Kyoto.
"As the world's only remaining superpower, the United States is accustomed to leading internationally co-ordinated action. But at present the US Government is failing to take up the challenge of global warming," he told Science magazine.
"The United States is already in the forefront of the science and technology of global change, and the next step is surely to tackle emissions control too. We can only overcome this challenge by facing it together, shoulder to shoulder. We in the rest of the world are now looking to the U.S.A. to play its leading part."
"Delaying action for decades, or even just years, is not a serious option. I am firmly convinced that if we do not begin now, more substantial, more disruptive, and more expensive change will be needed later on. We need early, well-planned action, for example, to allow businesses to plan to act in the course of normal capital replacement cycles and to encourage the development of new energy technologies."
In evidence on March 10 to a UK House of Lords committee he accused ExxonMobil (Esso) of funding lobbyists who are trying to undermine the consensus on global warming by suggesting that scientists are divided on the nature of the problem.
"This is the biggest issue for us to face this century.
It's manmade. The science is done. It's complete. It's a matter of political understanding. I personally have little doubt that unfortunately, as time moves on, the global warming events such as the very high temperatures in Europe over the past summer and the flooding two years before will occur more frequently, and the understanding of what's driving these will become more apparent."
Sir David is not the only one to compare global warming to WMD. He follows the former UN arms inspector Hans Blix, and Sir John Houghton, the former co-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's scientific assessment, who have both made similar statements.
Climate Science Update
February 16: In the US, scientists from the US Energy Department's Pacific Northwest Laboratory warn that global warming will diminish the amount of water stored as snow in the Western United States by up to 70 percent in the coastal mountains over the next 50 years. And that, they say, is the "best case" scenario.
March 3: The world's second-largest reinsurer, Swiss Re, warned on Wednesday that the costs of natural disasters, aggravated by global warming, threatened to spiral out of control, forcing the human race into a catastrophe of its own making.
March 05: The University of Bern reports that last summer was the hottest in 500 years.

Quick question ... if believing that one who hates all people who ascribe to a particular ideology or belief (like in a religion) are racist ... doesn't that make all those who hate all Republicans a racist?

Again ... sources for this. The Red Cross was allowed to inspect according to Geneva convention. Amnesty International has NO legal right under any law or treaty to be admitted into facilities like those in Guantanamo Bay.

I have spoken with many troops serving in Iraq who say the vast majority of Iraqis welcome them into their homes and feed them and tell them how much they appreciate them being there. I've even chatted once with a guy in England who said all Jews and Blacks were the scum of the earth and needed to be eradicated. So Axxxr ... who has been exposed to the "real" facts? Who here knows the "real" truth?
I seek facts - please point out the facts that support your assertions. Otherwise they are just opinions.

But unfortunately the scientific community is still very much divided about what is the cause of global warming or if such a thing actually exists. I think I can agree with you that we have been experiencing some extreme weather in the last few years. But what is causing it? Is it something man made? Is it something that happens in nature all on its own? I know you have your opinion ... and because of your political ideology - you're convinced you're right.
I remain skeptical (in the true meaning of the word [look it up if you don't know what the true meaning is]).
By the way - I'd have no problem with the worlds economy shifting from petroleum based to some other more sustainable means.

Wow, I didn't realize that Russia and Australia haven't agreed to the Kyoto Treaty. I wonder why not. Of course, in this "bash Bush" ... "bash the USA" thread - nobody cares about any other country. Only the USA with it's alleged 50% pollution production matters? So, why doesn't Russia or Australia sign on?
Hey - could the USA be producing more than 50% of the worlds pollution?

@patrick - So what else could cause global warming, apart from pollution? John Kerry? Perhaps that was Saddam as well.....
I have heard a theory that the world is warming up as we're just about to have another ice age (the next of which is apparently overdue), I guess to be fair it could be that. Although our massive consuption of fossil fuels might have something to do with that too....
