As a phone I think it's better that alot of new models the signal quality is very good even in some places I always visiting the size is good the sound quality as I said very good
the setting goes in second I just download the operator setting via imate.com and start using every thing in a second
also if you need any support you can register for free in clubimate.com and start using online support and chat with any of them if you have any problem
also in clubimate.com you can download any updated rom for free
about the talking time I can say that I have at least 2 hours a day talking time and 15 minutes to check my e-mail or browse the internet using the gprs and about 10 minutes using the wifi and maybe another 10 minutes using the bluetooth and I still have 2 marks of the four marks of the battery meter
about the SP5 i didn't test it my self but when you compare the SP5m and SP5 you will find them the same the only different is the media player key for the spm5
(compare at gsmarena.com)

Thanks a million omardeneo for your very detailed and helpful reply.
One very important aspect of the SP5 that I need you to tell me about omardeneo is its performance and functionality as a regular phone. For instance did you have trouble setting it up in terms of GPRS, MMS, and EDGE?
I don’t know how things are where you come from, but where I come from technical support is almost inexistent and you have to do everything by yourself.
Did you by any chance happen to find an online source for setting up the phone?
Also did you happen to see and use the SP5 (not the musical edition) and if you did how does it compare to the SP5m?
U also said that you're heavy call maker and with that kind of usage the phone lasts 1.5 days. How long do these calls take in total duration? coz I'm a heavy calls maker myself.
And also how does GPRS usage affect the battery coz I use a lso of GPRS and IM too.

I thought you needed a smartphone with a touchscreen. What I'd personally like to know is how long you've used windows on a phone, imate hasn't been around that long. I'm not surprised that you found the SP5 faster than the SP3 as that is what you'd expect from WM5. Have you ever used any other smartphone or was it just dumb
phone before you used windows?

13 phones per year wow. I don't think I got that last question. And you should try UIQ its the only thing you haven't tried if you don't count blackberry.

That’s quite a collection, omardeneo. I guess it makes a very good judge on phones, whether dumb or smart
One interesting piece of info you can provide-considering your usage- is which do you think is better, Symbian or WM05? In terms of user convenience, functionality, and all the other aspects you can shed lights on.

Too bad you haven't used UIQ too.
Mahora, its WM 5.0 not '05
Back to omar so do you still have any of the phones you stated in your list or did you sell them all?

I like to test phones
also I'm trading on it specially Nokia because I don't like to use it
I think the WM is much better than Symbian, the most atractive thing is the way you search in the phone book you simply press the letters for any part you remeber of the first or last name and so
also the file browsing and pocket MSN and internet explorer
Yes I didn't try black berry before because the price in egypt is too high comparing with its price outside but realy I was thinking later to try it
any way sorry for wrighting too fast because there is a football match I would like to watch now but I'm ready for any questions
by the way I'm using now 2 lines, one with I-mate SP5m and the other in I-mate PDA2

I forgot to ask all of you a question.
Are you Egyptians outside Egypt or live in Egypt?

Yes, happy new year to you all.
@omardeneo
I know I live in Egypt
But have you tried UIQ? And searching in the phonebook using multiple letters isn't really a cutting edge feature and most dumb phones either have it or will soon
Microsoft isn't very good at making cutting edge features, heck it took them till IE7 to figure that tabbed browsing on PCs is nice, Firefox had it from day one and Opera has had it since what feels like the begining of time ( at least computer time).
I have no intension on trying a WM device soon but do hope that I manage to get a P990 soon with the new UIQ3. I try to stay away from Microsoft as much as I can because I usually prefer the underdog and I don't want what happenned in the PDA market to happen again in the mobile market.
Somebody tell me why I write an essay everytime I post a reply.....please
