Dude, if you don't want to wait then get the W995. It seems a solid phone, plus, I would be tempted to get a new phone before the usual October/November high-end release dates because the phones released then don't usually get their first good working firmware upgrade till February/March (especially if the software is a new version i.e. Walkman 4.0 or A3),
may well be down the pan by then, meaning you'll have a useless phone.
But saying all that. I will probably buy the next non-smart Cybershot sim-free regardless. My C905 is nearly perfect but I'm an addict for new phones. I want HD recording and/or optical zoom then I'll be happy till mid 2010

portfolio/development staff who may be listening.. er.. reading, I'm the guy who faithfully buys 2-3 phones a year, and some of the rarer handsets too, I'm the guy you need to please, so HD recording + optical zoom would be fantastic

Well now I hope the megapixel race ends with Idou and we can see some better optics from then on but I agree that better video elements needs to be explored - with an all new form-factor perhaps.
Thicker phones do sell, as long as the extra thickness is justified by containing some good tech.

I'm getting excited about this next announcement. Reese? Idou? an some more goodies? The summer announcements tend to be the most important because this is what we should see on the shelves in time for the festive season - just when my contract ends
