Sony Ericsson's stealth mode attacker:
Quoting from the net: "First thing, say good bye to Jog-Dial. There’s some kind of icon wheel in the upper left part of the screen that made me hope the Jog-Dial was still somewhere, but the article confirms it’s gone due to the minimum size achieved for the handset. A feature of the UIQ 3.0 interface of the Symbian 9.1 OS it’s running is the support for .PNG files and its 256 levels of transparency."

Mmm....eye-candy..
Regarding the s700 successor:
Personally,I would have preferred it to be a slider,for ergonomic reasons more than anything else,particularly if/when the other hand is erm..occupied and you want to rotate the screen through 180 degrees or whatever.90 degrees is easy enough,though.
Perhaps just a really trivial concern, but I still don't see a rotating form as ergonomically better than a slider.

@ brix,
I looked it up earlier after reading WM's post.
PNG= Portable Network Graphics.
All the info here:
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/pngintro.html
It seems to be designed to replace GIF formats,and to an extent,the more complicated TIFF formats.
PNG really has three main advantages over GIF: alpha channels (variable transparency), gamma correction (cross-platform control of image brightness), and two-dimensional interlacing (a method of progressive display). PNG also compresses better than GIF in almost every case, but the difference is generally only around 5% to 25%, not a large enough factor to encourage folks to switch on that basis alone. One GIF feature that PNG does not try to reproduce is multiple-image support, especially animations; PNG was and is intended to be a single-image format only.

It means .png will have a hard time to make gif obsolete ! And Kryptik thanks for the PM. Very informative. Unfortunately it only seem to work with the 6680 and I only had one for the weekend :-(
