@blu,did the connections now its working fine i gues.....now i can acess files on my desktop from my lapto...by going from start > My network places...but this option is missing in my start button on my desktop.how do i get this option in my start button??

Right click taskbar -> Properties -> Start Menu -> Customize -> Advanced -> My Network Places.

@jn,yup..almost a month
before i send it to service,i want to trasfer a lot of photos,games and songs to my desktiop...so was setting up Lan connection.
