As soon as someone says 'CCD' plankis throws a hissy fit and throws abuse at the only CCD camera phone he knows of.
Trying to steer back on topic a bit, I am curious to see what macro and night shots will look like from the C905 (and the INNOV8), too see if there is finally a worthy replacement for the i-mobile 902. After all, 8 MP should be better than 5 MP, even though it is CMOS compared to CCD. The sample shots posted at M-R and
SM@PE seem to show that the INNOV8 currently have an edge. But since SE haven't released the phone yet, they may still have a chance to improve. The main fault I saw in the C905 photos were overexposure, causing blooming which killed some detail. I
posted some examples of this a few pages back.

The guys over at PhoneArena said somewhere on their website that compared to the protos they received, the retail version of INNOW8 makes worse photos.
@AbuBasim
Did you mean the nightshots on
SM@PE's C905 in-depth camera review?

Yes, it seems that since the C905 has a Xenon flash it relies on it to light up the scene so it uses faster shutter speeds. The INNOV8 only has a LED light so it uses slower shutters. The result is that, if you shoot scenes that are outside the range of the flash, you get underexposed photos from the C905.
The camera driver should take into account what it has focused on since the camera has auto focus and either adjust the strength of the flash or use a slower shutter if it has focused on an object far away. Of course auto focus doesn't work very well on most cameras and camera phones when the scene is not well lit.

Do you agree with
SM@PE's opinion that C905 makes (in general) better nightshots than INNOV8? I think so, obviously because of the xenon's presence.

That's true, most of people use it only for fun, and the video quality is not the best either..I did remeber When I got my first 3G Z1010, only did use the video call twice.. After so much 3G phones I only have done with it twice. maybe for some else which use it more that often.. But for people which is "döv" is not that good.. hehe

@abu
The only underexposed pics I've seen we're all distance shots at night, which as you quite rightly explain is because the camera is focusing beyond it's flash range.
But in those circumstances the flash isn't needed. It just looks like bad photography in my opinion. Much like the pics on Eldars review of a city landscape which is totally underexposed cause he used the flash. Were they expecting the camera to light up the entire horizon?
The pics taken indoors within the flash range were superb.
