Ok People.
I have update one of the K800i's using the Wotan service.
R1KC001
Generic UK CDA 2
PA is now PA30
Jave is JP-7.4
Text Rev is CB
On R1J I have 73mb of ava memory in phone
on R1K I have 72mb of ava memory in phone
No problems in updating what so ever in updating.
Few changes i can see though are as follows.
** Possible Bugs **
1) If your phone is in standby and with the keylock on, you received a sms, you click to unlock your phone and normly the lights come on.
Well they still come on, however there is a 1 second delay before the lights come on when you unlock the phone.
2) If you now go into the Data Com, you have a number of accounts all ready there.
However now some of them can not be removed. I have tried no matter what.
This is also the same in Internet Profiles. Some accounts are there to which some you can delete and some you cant.
(I have seen this before with software updating at CPW)
3) Video Preview in the file manager has been removed in this update
** Bug Fixed **
1) If you have a phone lock on you phone, now when you switch the phone on you just enter your pin and the phone starts (If you have a pin)
Or if you dont have a pin, then the phone just starts.
" You know only see the phone lock code, if you swap sim cards over "
************************************************************
I know that a lot of people always say when a new update has been installed that the menus and phone feels faster. I can say that i have tested this phone with my other K800i which hasnt been updated and there is no difference what so ever.
************************************************************
Now there is one more thing. I have read on here that since some one updated the phone to R1G when they make a call after 5-10 mins the call cuts of and you have to wait for it to show the connection again.
Now I was having something simular with my K800
R1JG.
(Im using o2) When i make a call (Normal Voice mail) in a 3g area the call is fine and connected, as soon as i start to leave the 3g area (in a car/public transport) etc, the call would drop out and i would have to wait for the phone to see the 2g network. Now there is nothing wrong with the 2g coverage its like the phone doesnt warm transfer the call over.
I can make it happen on o2 3g network all the time no problems.
All i have to do is make a call, move still using the phone and hey-presto as soon as i start to leave 3g the call drops.
I havnt used tried it on this new firmware so i will have to let you know the findings. (im on hols this weekend so i will update my findings and anything else ive noticed next week.
I cant say if this firmware is better that the other 2 prev released for crashing as with the other the phone never crashed.
If it does tho i will let you know
Happy easter to you all

The free phone memory depends also on which CDA or customisation you have. Chinese version, e.g, has less memory left compared to Europe one. When I had APAC, I got 68 MB. But with EUROPE 5 I have 71 MB. No problem here. Chinese characters may consume much memory? Could be.
I don't have those undeletable data account nor internet profiles after my flash to R1KC001 EUROPE 5. I manually configured each setting. Could it be because of operator-specific customisation?
I do find 'no major problems' with all firmwares. Ever since R1BC up to R1KC, no major problems like drop calls, duplicated phone book entries, or Operation failed have taken place. Lucky, may be?

hi hi... Anyone of you encountered any problem update your firmware R1JG001 via SEUS?
I was getting update failed when it was updating up to 95%... Even I tried to do "Master reset all" before update... but still the same problem... I can still turn on my phone with R1JG001 but I find it is not stable now.....
Is there any problem at SEUS? Anyone can advice how to re-update my firmware again?
My phone now is...
R1JG001

why would they remove the video preview thing in the file manager??
that was a nice feature!! they are a taking a step back with that.
@darrengf
hey did u try using the upper left button next to the earpiece to scroll pictures from standby? also can you scroll up and down in the file manager with this left button?
in the previous f/w they had disabled these two things though the right one worked perfectly.

Sure, it works just fine. Tried it with some photos, and the effect was additional contrast and brightness. I converted back to K800i though. I don't like the problematic keypad.
