I just got the z1... Really nice phone but I think I have the crappy screen. How do I check which one it is? The Web pages are all yellowish.. And there is severe degradation of contrast with Slight angle. Even Xperia T had better screen.

Over rated battery draining gimmicky features if you ask me. Samsung try to do way too much. I would never use eye tracking etc just a waste of space

gitaroo - just set your screen to stay awake longer and hit the power button when you want it to sleep. it does vibrate on email notification if you set it to do so. there's probably an app on the store that does the blocking call thing you want.
djin - compare to someone's Z1 to find out. but if you are that unhappy, go back to the store and exchange.

Hmmmmm, now that I've had more chances to play with the Z1 and Z Ultra I'm torn on which one to get. The Z1 is smaller, has the superior camera and a flash which I'd use as a flashlight a lot. Its size will just fit into my shirt pocket which is normally where I keep my phone. The Z Ultra will fit in my shirt pocket, but it'll stick out by 1-2cm... I think I can live with that though. The larger screen is VERY appealing, and even though it's a wee bit behind the Z1 in head-on viewing, the viewing angles might make me happier due to lack of colour shift. The ability to use a stylus would also be nice as I could be more precise in my selections and the screen would be less mucky from fingerprints.
The main problem is my provider doesn't have the Z Ultra, but has the Z1 on a plan. I suppose I could get the Z1 from them, flip it and pay a bit more to get the Z Ultra unlocked.
The other thing I like is the power case for the Z Ultra, but I think it's highly likely Sony will have one for the Z1 anyways.
Hmmmmmm... decisions, decisions. Either way, I think it's highly likely I'll sell whatever phone I get for one of the 2014 models anyways if they're going to start incorporating things like wireless charging, xenon flashes and whatnot.

Goto Gmail then click on top right corner sub menu. Then click settings then click on your email address and notifications are in there

Interesting to see if Z1 also has this IDIOTIC limitation of 25 emails on the device.
I could compare today Z and Z1 and Z has a bit more yellowish screen...

doministry - ha.. that is your pet peeve for a long time now. i'm glad it hasn't totally turned you off from sony devices
just an FYI to americans (or any one really) ordering from handtec, my smartwatch 2 was shipped last week and is arriving tomorrow according to tracking. Seems there are no customs issues this time, which is great. Can't wait to play with it tomorrow!
