I dont think Nokia can be considered competition any more. If you want symbian then i guess but as far as multimedia purpoises goes, SE are the best.

i went in my local newsagents today and saw two magazines with the k800/k790 featured on the front. you could say that since magazines are already getting strong info on these phones (also featured w950 taking on the apple "king" of mp3), then they must be close to coming out. i didn'y know whether to be happy that SE's gadgets are being focused on, meaning they must be good, or be annoyed because i wanna be the only one to have one
(of course you lot can as well cos we don't know each other properly)

Funny point in reagrds to the previous link for the 4 vids on this phone. One of the vids was advertising the video recording. I wonder if SE have tweaked the video on this.
My pla was initially to get the w810 but after hearing of how the silver paint is rubbing of the d pad i think i can wait till june at the latest. If recent reports are anything to go by then I may just be able to get one in May. One contact of mine also reckons the k800 will be released earlier than stated on the SE website partly as a surprise and partly to counter the sales of the n80. SE anticipated a late release by Nokia and this is why 90% of the k800i handsets gave been made and have been ready for shipping for the last 40 days!!!!!!!

Spoke to local O2 shop today, they haven't heard a sausage about it, but thats not suprising really, most shops are pretty clueless unless you really push them.
Vodafone/O2 coming soon pages aren't showing it yet, so i suspect its still slated for a late May/Early June release.
We'll just have to hold on till then!

However i agree bavlondon2, it does appear they're advertising the K800i's video inside that video itself. When the guy (Joel) is on the top of the bus hes taking a video, it cuts to the video hes taking (showing black borders, but it looks larger than QCIF resolution) and is silky smooth.
But, i reckon the video wont be like that. Companies are always advertising their products and aping their real capabilities. Its like when they put a phone on the front of a magazine and put a super high resolution image placed over the screen to make it look as though the screen generates images of that quality.

Sorry to be picky but the picture is of a W810i and K790i. It doesnt have the front camera that the K800i has.
