> K850i vs N95 pic quality
Bookmark topic
It appears that Nokia fanboys love the N95 and SE fanboys love the K850... not really a very impartial debate.
Personally I hate the software in Nokia's - and this above all will sway me towards SE.
SE also syncs with my Mac perfectly - has done for years. Nokia does not in my experience.
Both PHONES have great cams built in. End of.
Wouldn't life be simpler if we all went back to phones that just made phone calls and had a contact list

^^Exactly.
mib1800 just posted 5 reviews in the N95s favour.
I spent less than a minute searching the net and found a review in the K850i's favour and this from mobile review:-
"If you value truly photographic quality of snaps – look no further, [the Sony Ericsson K850i] has no alternatives. In all conscience I have to admit that the Nokia N95 over the past 6 months has become the most popular 5 Mpix equipped device, but the Sony Ericsson K850i is not only on its heels, it also surpasses it in the imaging department (that’s our only focus now)."
You see how pointless this exercise is?

Hi all,
I did try and ask for some sort of understanding way back on page 13 and again on 15 but obviously it appears that isn't possible.
Unfortunately as plankgatan was convinced the K850 was going to be the best thing ever since the announcement, his constant dismissal of any bad pictures as always user error not the the K850. As well as his failure to accept all the bugs and faults that many have suffered and with more than one unit as well, and his very obvious love and support of SE. Personally i would find anything he claims to be the truth hard to believe, i think all his best shots are one of many that he then selects and even by his own admission he tweaks and plays with his phone setting to always get the best results. Which i find really funny as i thought the whole idea of a camera phone was to catch that moment, if you are going to have to play with the settings or shoot multiple shot's doesn't that defeat the whole objective of a camera phone?
As i said at before at the end of the day buy whatever suits you best but everyone is never going to agree on this one, i actually think my N93 with 3x Optical Zoom took better pictures than either of these camera's and i only ever used the Auto settings. But unlike some here i don't spend my life taking shots of shopping malls or taps dripping i have better things to do. If you really want to take nice artistic shots of water drips get a dedicated camera that will blow all camera phones to pieces is MO and is very unlikely to have any bugs to fix either.

Find me more...
(btw: the above reviewer used to say all Nokias video recording is "mediocre/bad" and those of SE k750/800/w810 iss "good")
You see how pointless this exercise is?
Maybe you cannot see.

At the very least it dismissed the misconception that "K850 is the best in photo" (which sadly to say have been permanent imprinted in the mind of some SE diehard fans here

).

All I am saying is its not hard to find reviews in each of the phones favour:
http://mobilementalism.com/20[....]ia-n95-camera-phone-shoot-out/
What shall we do now? Go out and see who can find the most reviews for each phone? Shall we check the Chinese sites and Asian website reviews? Shall we spend the rest of the year trawling through the Indian websites and translating them just to prove a point?
Can you not see how futile the whole thing is?

You sneaky.

This review just regurgitates what was in mobile-review review. So it dont count. yes, get me more reviews that shows K850 triumphs over N95. Tally now stands at 5-1 in N95 favor.

I still think it is possible to have a great camera on a mobile phone and not a poor compramise like that on both N95 and K850. Just look at the quality of shots you can get out of I-mobile 902. No one can dispute they are better. This newly posted 902 picture has that wow facter at full res:
http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/viewphotos.php?pid=8117 - it's clear, no evidence of processing(n95) or graininess(k850). Neither K850 or N95 can match this at full res. If/when SE/nokia go CCD N95 and K850 will look like toys. CCD fairs much better with small lens over CMOS end of story. Actually, N95 and K850 seem to be the bottom pickings for 5MP phones (watch the stron disagreements at that comment). We all know about 902 but Samsungs G800 looks pretty good and has 3x optical zoom.
You know this thread really should be about all 5mp phones and not just N95 and K850. There seems to be a strong Nokia/SE rivalry. This is just not justified. My son has Samsun D900 and it can actually produce shots that are better than K80. Same applies for 5mp phones

@goldenface
On this i agree with you completely
"Can you not see how futile the whole thing is?"
Which is why for the love of peoples sanity this now getting to be a very silly thread and should be locked IMO as it is never going to be resolved to every ones satisfaction ever.

All vs threads are silly and are good for one thing: "a very good time-wasting". You can always join those "help me thread" if you get bored here.
