I agree. Sure look like fingerprints to me in the X10 photo.

I'm still very much looking forward to this phone releasing, despite what a lot of people are saying about it. I do think it sucks it's not being released earlier though. Unless Q1 means some time in January, it'll be too long before it's out and you're right, similar/better phones may be out and grab our attention.

I use to love the build quality of Sony Ericsson cell phones until I bought X1i and the back was litreally full of scratches and white markings. I had to tell them please send me another battery cover cause my neighbour's small kid was playing with my X1i and now I bought like few days ago. So riddiculious that they sell such expensive phones and then I have to deal with such minor issues which looks so unattractive and dull.

You guys are still missing the point.

X10 is designed to be the top phone... not top in the spec race (which is obselete in case you're still living in 2007) but top in User Experience, the area in which the iPhone smashed all so-called smartphones to smithereens and became a runaway success.

To my knowledge the Snapdragon proceesor is the newest/best/fastest smartphone processor around and has been rumoured for 3G enabled Netbooks up until this point. So are actually using a Netbook processor in a smartphone which in car terms is like sticking a 3.0L V6 in a Mini. Might I remind people that the current best phone (the iPhone 3Gs) runs only a 600MHz processor and my iPhone 3G 8GB is a comparatively light 400MHz?

You guys are still wrapped up in the spec race. It hasn't been about the best spec for two years now; get with the program. N96, N97, Satio etc are on the wrong path unless they can get users online more than previous S60 phones and downloading apps more than previous S60 phones.

In lieu of having a vast online store to compete with Apple, manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola and have to provide better cameras and other spec than the iPhone to stay in the headlines, but it's all about the UI now: integrating information in one place and providing ongoing software functionality upgrades and has a big tick in all those boxes with this phone.

X10 is quite frankly AWESOME with a capital 'O'.

65K screen is not going to hold this phone back. I'm really looking forward trying Mediascape and Timescape because innovation these days is in the software rather than the hardware.

i'm very excited for the x10.

i think the average user wouldn't care about the number of colors being displayed as long as it looked good. And really, so far it's proto, and for all we know it could change in the release version. So, let's wait and see.

I agree with carkitter that it's about the user experience and I think the X10 will surely deliver. I'm excited to see more of timescape and mediascape in real world use. I'm also curious about emailing/text msging with the on screen keyboard since there isn't multi-touch, this would be the only area I would be concerned as it would slow down typing. But, it is definitely not a deal breaker and merely a very small speed bump that will be an afterthought after a few days of use.

i can't wait for more videos to pop up!

But motorola on 2.0 will have 16mill.
Couldn't SE have put a better display in it and then 1.6 would use 65K and then more after upgrading?

I'm most likely still getting this though.

you all can dance in the daisy's all day long singing songs ...

you cant say the phone is a top phone, but not a spec whore, when it CLEARLY is, theres NO doubt about it, none. you dont put a 480*854 screen in a phone to say hey, we just put a 4" screen with 400,000 pixels the first pretty much at that size and density, and sit here and tell me that the N96/97 were/are an equal comparison. the iphone doesnt multitask theres no need, look im tired and your points are valid you value the user experience, i value hardware, i am willing to flash the device nullifying SE's attempt at UI. so personally i couldnt care about the user feel, matter of fact the iphone is the epitome of retarded OS's its so locked down theres no way to customize it to your needs. most of the specs on the phone are in space they are so high upto and including 2/3 parts of the screen, but coming out with 2003 colorscale seems weak.

at least the battery is huge. there were so many place to F the phone up, and at least its only a compass and color depth, theres hope that what we saw is not 100% representative of the final effort at SE.

EDIT: i asked amir about the compass from the dev blog and he said that he installed the compass app and it worked, so there is a compass afterall. now for me its a one horse race in getting some color.

wow. lots of trolling here lately. maybe you guys should open a negative thread so people here can really discuss about the phone. and btw, 65k is the limit for Donut just like winmo 6.1 on x1. I bet the screen can actually support 16M. In real life though, it really wouldn't matter.
