Im not too bothered about mine. I finally changed jobs this year and im earning more money so I can afford to treat my phones a little rougher than im used to and easily replace them if they die on me.

Im still really careful though. The S3 doesn't bother me as much as my older N8, as plastic can dent but tends to keep its colour. Glass shatters though and metal scrapes the paint off, so the S3 is probably better being plastic for such things happening.

Reason for Samsung using plastics

But is that the truth ? not that it matters one way or any other, but that sites opinion isn't official.

I don't mind plastic at all, but I do prefer aluminium.

Here is a S4,HTC One and Xperia Z comparison

So it's pretty clear the GS4 won this comparison even if not by much, we know this and the people commenting at XperiaBlog know it, yet the utter denial going on in the Xperia Z thread here is nothing short of desperate and quite sad yet hilarious it's like people just can't handle the truth, ah well.

Anyway, GSMArena have their Review up and they are thoroughly impressed by the GS4, even saying:
What you should take away from all this is that the final weak point of the Super AMOLED screens has been taken care of and the Galaxy S4 offers image quality like no other smartphone on the market. Its impressive contrast and almost perfect viewing angles make everything on the screen pop, regardless of your viewpoint.

The color saturation is beyond the reach of any LCD out there, which make even the dullest image appear remarkably vibrant. Still, if you are not a fan of the oversaturated look of AMOLEDs, Samsung gives you the option to tune down the saturation to more natural levels and enjoy the best of both worlds. There's a dedicated Adobe RGB setting that gets this done.

Samsung continue to be media kings in Android with the GS4, with their high attention to detail, I was impressed by this especially:
The Galaxy S4 has a couple of features that will improve your listening experience further. One is Smart Sound, which equalizes the volume between tracks. The other is Adapt Sound - it plays a series of beeps (both high and low frequency) and asking if you can hear them. This way the phone can map the capacities of your specific headset and fine-tune its output for optimal sonic experience.
After the calibration is complete, the Galaxy S4 shows you the kind of gain you're receiving by keeping Adapt Sound on.

Even naming Samsungs video player the best in the business
The best video player found on smartphones just got better.

...

The chapter preview detects chapters in the video and shows a rectangular grid, with live thumbnails (just like the grid view above).
Hovering your finger over the timescroll lets you preview part of the video in a small thumbnail - just like YouTube videos do when you hover the mouse.

The Galaxy S4 managed to play all files we threw at it. DivX and XviD along with MP4, AVI and MKV were no problem for the Galaxy S4 and there were no issues with the audio codecs either - not even the usually problematic AC3 videos caused any trouble.

I know AC3 causes havoc in many other phones, where sometimes sound is played but not the vid, or vice versa OR audio goes totally off sync with the video.

Great review overall.

One week to go!

I have pre-ordered the black S4. I love my S3 but I really want the upgraded camera and the screen (plus instant 4.2.2).

I wanted the Exynos 5 but I looks like the UK may not even get it, and even if so, it will be a long wait. That's the only downside but saying that the S600 looks like a beast and tbh so long as it matches my S3 (which I still find incredibly fast) I'll be happy.

Re plastic vs aluminium the is no doubt that alu looks and feels so much better but I still have questions over it's durability over a long time; plastic may be cheap but it can take quite a bit of a battering.

I get really sick of this selective comparing site where SGS4 is the winner, why don't you use other site that the Z clearly the winner is?

That video files is just a stupid plain arguments, there are plenty programs support those files aswell, you really a Samsung fanatic.

And GSM arena is just A Samsung fanatic site nothing more that that with their stupid selective comparing.

And here comes worf again with his constant whining and blabbing against Samsung... We know, it's so unfair that Samsung in number one and Sony with their buggy phones and non-existent product support can't even score in TOP 5... Too bad, so sad...

Speaking of that... not to stir up a hornet's nest but didn't Randomuser tell us that 4.2.2 for the Z would come before the S4 was released.

6 days to go...
