I'm talking about: i.e. 6100- while you're typing sms or smth. you feel it's parts moving (front and back part of cover) and folding and cause of that making noises (like screech-scrach).
yes and these are the parts that are only clip to the phone not fixed as they are express on covers. use a solid phone from nokia motorola and 9 imes out of10 they are as well made/poorly as se.
most se phones are soild units screwed together including the cover so its gonna feel more sturdy, but people love changing covers something harder to do on an se. it aint my cup of tea swapping covers but people do love it so

Quote: That's my point, most customers will choose the mobile with less features! Strange? Silly? Daft? Yes, it is all of these things, but that is how the majority of customers tend to behave. Most people don't want all those advanced features and their inclusion can actually be off putting.

it is very strange that u can come to this conclusion. it is like saying people prefer a Nokia 128x128 resolution instead of bigger one on SE or preferring the old and outdated Nokia Series40 UI compared to SE 3D animated UI. So if ur conclusion holds any true for majority of users, then SE would be in BIG trouble as SE phones are generally filled with more features. Maybe we just agree to disagree on this point.

@mib1800

I don't believe it is a strange point at all, in fact it is rather logical if you examine it. I am not saying that people don't like advanced features, just that they tend to go with what they know. New features are more readily accepted when they have a very obvious, if not always practical, use e.g. an integrated camera. If you were to ask the average customer whether he would like his mobile to have an integrated camera or the ability to read and edit Word documents, I am quite sure that the majority would choose the camera.

People do like gadgets and new technology, but they like such things when they can easily understand and use them and when there is an obvious application for such features.

Smartphones on the other hand include a wealth of features that many may think are a waste of money or useless to them.

The K700 has a tendency to squeak when typing a text, one feels the battery cover becoming indented almost.

@scotsboy
this is were i was coming from build and materials wise i think all the companies are about the same. if you went to each factory appart from signs on the wall and the boxes for the phone i bet you would struggle to tell one from the other

I agree with you, but then again these things can be looked at subjectively. Does it matter if the materials used in a SE mobile are the exact same as those used in a Nokia mobile if the user thinks that they feel and/or look better?

quite agree it doesnt just saw a few posts in this thread and a couple of others trying to state fact that se were better built.
if they were speaking subjectivly i think thats far but they were trying to imply it objectivly.
i guess its like a lot of this thread it comes down to your own opinion and thats why 25 pages in we still aint got a definative answer

This does seem to have run on for quite some time without nay consensus. Basically we are debating, which is better, SE or Nokia. Statistics and facts can be quoted as much as anyone cares to, but I think we shall all just have to accept that this is a subjective matter.

@scotsboyuk:

i hv to add to ur view on "subjective". There are 2 categories:

1) fact-based - e.g.
-if SE growth continues (as in previous years), SE will become the X-th biggest manufacturer.
-if Nokia Series60 platform standardisation works, it will boast its competitiveness.

2) delusional - e.g.
-SE has the best technology in the world and make phones that are value for money and desired by everyone.
-Nokia only makes crappy low-tech phones which only the mindless or un-informed will buy.
-SE has its customers interest at heart by coming up with fewer models whereas Nokia exploit its customers coming up with many similar models.

That would appear to be a very convincing argument, however, there are other factors to take account of. Whether SE's growth continues or not, it would still not make them any better than Nokia if their products aren't any good. If one compares Aston martin and Ford, which car would you rather have? Aston martin may not sell as many cars as Ford, but their products are better. The same rule applies to the mobile phone industry in that volume isn't a prequisite for success, it is usually the other way around e.g. Nokia's usurpation of Motorola's position as market leader.

I detect a wee hint of bias here. The above statements are both true and incorrect at the same time, because they are subjective statements. One person may very well see SE as being more altruistic than Nokia and also believe that SE products are of a much higher standard than Nokia's. Of course one could believe the opposite, which I am assuming you do from your title description, but regardless it will not make the statement any less true for someone with an opposing view.

Speaking for myself I can honestly say that I would choose a K700 over a 7610, yet the 7610 has more (and in some regards better) features than the K700. Why should I choose an 'inferior' product? The reason is very simple, I think that it is a better product in terms of my needs. Not everyone is going to agree of course, but then that is why we have competing manufacturers.
