Not all listed specs on an uaprof are 100% correct. Some are just placeholders. There are no QHD xperias (except from Verizon z4) available and you think Sony would now straight move to 4k displays which btw won't go into mass production before 2016? Highly unlikely.

There are few possibilities there, one as you said, placeholder and the information is incorrect, two the information is correct, as mentioned by vizileaks, the Z5+ is aimed for christmas 2015, perhaps by then the screen will be available in low numbers? Three, 4k screen production has been moved from early 2016 to late 2015? Four, Sony will introduce the Z5+ as a concept, touting the device a first in mobile with 4K screen, with production slated for end of 2015 or early 2016.

I am sure there are other possibilities, but I have a few concerns regarding a 4k screen on a mobile device. I feel the display could be the IGZO from sharp, but how energy efficient will it be? 2k is already a lot of pixels on a small screen but 4k might be overkill. Sure Sony can say look we made a 4k mobile phone, the world's first and now you can watch your 4k video you just shot on your mobile phone in native resolution because you probably do not own a 4k tv to watch it on of course. I am all for 4k on tvs but a mobile phone, not sure the battery tech is just yet mature enough to handle that. 4k in a smartphone could be a good marketing idea but I fear for the price of the device, 1000+ USD.

If 4k rumour is true, then the device needs a a large battery, otherwise users won't get more than a half a day of use.

As for stook's rumour about a new sensor, I hope that sony doesn't pull a sony and only use it on the Z5+ and then leave a crappy sensor on the rest of the Z5 line. Unless this new sensor for the Z5+ is a different sensor than the IMX230 all together?

3 weeks to go until IFA.

ZTE reported to produce 4k phone

The phone in question is the ZTE Star 3, which GizmoChina reports packs a 5.5-inch screen with a staggering 2160 x 3840 resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 808ppi.

There we go guys, we should definitely expect Sony going 4k on it's 5.5 device. Looks like rumors are true indeed, and we can expect it around Christmas.

@Niko The question is not if Sony will make an Ultra HD phone but when. I wouldn't be surprised if a chinese company like ZTE announces the first 4K Smartphone since Vivowith its Xplay 3S was first to showcase a QHD phone (followed by Oppo 7 and LG G3). And I honestly hope the rumored 4K screen for the Z5+ isn't true not just because I find it ridiculous on a 5.5" phone but more because I'm skeptical how a problematic SoC like SD810 will handle that crazy amount of pixels.

I knew I forgot something, just like you mention, the 810, can it handle a 4k screen? According to qualcomm it can it seems.

If z5+ has an unannounced 5.5" 4k display then who makes it? is it secretly made by jdi? only by sony? by that china based company? sharp's panel won't be ready before 2017 inside smartphones so its out of the question and anyway is most likely intended first for sharp aquos future devices.
all in all, we can surely expect:
4.6" hd, 5.2" fhd, 5.5" qhd/4k (can't believe i'm writing this )
4gb of ram for z5 and z5+, 3gb of ram for compact
bigger battery for z5+ for sure
features in all:
fingerint scanner
new unannounced camera sensor
new camera software
some other new features (?)
more stock like android
other then that, all z3+ features will surely migrate to all z5 devices. Goes without question.

Do not expect a new ultra. Anyone looking for a 6" phablet better look elsewhere. Check out mate 8, huawei nexus, lg new phablet or c5 ultra.

@JohnnyNr.5
Yeah, i think 4k and s810 display needs a 4000mah to keep up with z2 and z3 praised battery life. Let's hope that the 4500mah rumor is true. Well, i'm sure sony knows what they are doing because they care about battery life more then most manufacturers. Even z3+ with a smaller battery and s810 still has decent battery life.

Sharp's 4k screen is rumoured to be ready for 2016 not 2017 but that is still probably too late.

JDIs portfolio only has one 4k screen and this is for 10.1 tablets, they have a 5.5 WQHD display. Unless JDI has developed a 4K 5.5 inch screen and haven't announced it yet, and will announce it at IFA, but I feel that is highly unlikely.

I am surprised the 5.5 inch device has not leaked, could this be the actual bond phone?

@ascariss
Sharp 4k 5.5" will only be in mass production somewhere in 2016. it could take a year or more before it debut on a smartphone that you can actually buy in the store, this why i wrote 2017.
Yeah, i believe z5+ is the bond phone. bond needs the most high end option.
maybe it has not leaked because they want to maintain more anticipation but there is plenty of time for new leaks until ifa. it should launch with z5 and z5c in october-november if they want it to be available at christmas (25th december)... and don't forget that bond is debuting in november.
