ya Cunning man>- If it is really no good hopefully you can tell us. At least it will give we all a second thought. As you know there are a few "Hickup" on this P800 already. We do not know whether is due to network or the phone really not up to our expectation.

Hi chaps,

Thanks for the questions. As some of you know, I bought the P800 about 3 and a half weeks ago - at that time for a pretty high price from Far East Plaza. I am sure most of you know what the main faults of the phone are. But for me, the main reasons why I have now decided to sell it are:

1) Slow synchronization etc. The new version of the PC Suite software (which I downloaded from the website last Saturday) has addressed some of the issues I had previously. However, it is still very slow (about 10 minutes plus) if you have a lot of contacts etc. I am still having some problems (e.g. missing contacts), which SE have suggested are due primarily to my huge Outlook file (I have 4000+ contacts, 4000+ notes, 8000+ calendar items etc...), and the fact that the current version of PC Suite uses memory quite aggressively - i.e. my current 512Mb on my notebook is insufficient. My guess is that they will come out with yet another version of the software next month (in time for the US launch), which may solve most of these issues.

2) I am relocating to the USA, to a state where GSM hasn't really been built out, so I will not be able to use the phone functionality.

Actually, I must say I still like the phone. The size is pretty darn small when you consider all that it can do, and there are now quite a few applications coming out for it. I also like the fact that it's got bluetooth etc, and that the GPRS browser and email functions work really well. However, if you have more than 2500 contacts or so, it might give you problems syncing for now - most people have no problems with this.

Again, I am looking to sell it cheap, as I don't have the time. I would be willing to sell it for S$900 or best offer - just send me an email at The_Cunning_Man@hotmail.com with your phone number.

Best,

C

Is the P800 price dropping ?? just saw an article on cnet at S$1188 ??

So far, anyone of you in this Forum bought the phone from the SONY.com.sg ?? how is it working till now - ??

TONYG - why didn't SE get on with the testing of the SYNC problem btween the P800 and OutLook2000 ??

Expecting it should be around $600~700 in 3 to 4 months time. GD88 is a better buy and much smaller.
