Maybe i've got something wrong last time when using 7.11 with MXE. Now i use back 7.11, and when taking pics in bright condition with MXE, the pics become too white (too overexpose), not like before any more.

aaa i don't know man..

stoc driver means every single camdriver0.dat that you can find in your phone after full flashing.
Doen't matter wich version or wich number... 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 5.3 ..etc

and wrilly take care what driver are you are talkin about.

I will ask tory to post her driver.. . from phone... just to be sure.

This afternoon i've taken distance shot with 7.11, and sharpness is excellent...i compare with the same scene i took with previous camdriver...i can see more detail on the air-con of the house opposite to my house, that i havent seen it before in my pics. And color is true also.
Thanks gxg for good driver.
Is there any way to make the pics taken with MXE less overexpose and get warmer color? it's too white now.

I decided to join the party, after a few weeks of just reading and testing various drivers.
First, a bunch of thanks for those striving to offer us a better camera driver. Your efforts are truly appreciated, and the least I can do is help you test them.
Second, I'll post my opinions about the latest two camdrivers tweaked by gxg (Salutari, George. Ma bucur ca un roman face legea pe forumul asta in cea mai importanta functie secundara a mobilului - camera. Zic secundara pentru ca cea primara ramane... vorbitul).

I tested the 8.11 version first, being the latest at the time I revisited the forum. I've never seen crisper photos taken with a mobile phone camera than those made with this driver. Brilliant! Yet, if I had nothing negative to comment I wouldn't have joined the forum, would I? So here goes: the sharpness seems a bit too high, and produces something resembling the noise, but this noise is rather white (the one for bad light conditions being rather blue). This only happens indoor, with no flash or light lamp. Also, 8.11 produces yellowish photos.

The 7.11 versions doesn't make the pictures look yellowish, and it's the most accurate when compared with the real (naked eye) image. The sharpness is still too high (obviously because 7.11 and 8.11 resemble a lot). This one (7.11) STAYS in my phone for now.

BOTH drivers cause a strange behavior in the preview mode: my phone lags when I'm changing the view point (for example, when i turn around). This used to happen only with night mode activated and in very poor light conditions. Now the phone behaves like that even in bright daylight. Why?

I do like the fact that the filesize of the photos is smaller. With my previous
modded camdriver (ady_k4e's 9.91) I obtained big size files and the phone didn't save them at all, or worse - it froze when zooming-in in certain pictures. But it was a lot better than the original driver... so I forgive you, ady (just joking!).
Other pro's: fast focus; fast saving and fast zoom-in (because of the small filesize). This is one hell-of-a-good job, man. THANK YOU.

Looking forward for your comments regarding my observations.

Strange... I took some pictures in my room using 7.11.
The light was on (the room's light, that is) and the phone's lamp was not necessary. But this was a test, and I turned the lamp on, although it made no difference (the 100 W light bulb in my room is powerful enough). Disaster! The pictures were completely yellow, with or without nightmode on.

1. Light on, lamp off, nightmode on

2. Light on, lamp on, nightmode on

3. Light OFF, lamp ON, nightmode ON

I hope the file attaching will work, it's the first time I'm doing it and there's no way to preview my post before submitting...

this yellow tent is given by exposure... but frankly i cannot undersand why... the only way to see if this exposure is set by the kernel and not form driver... is to test the previous releases. my gues is that 80% of exposure is set by kernel.

but if you pass the yellow layer.. with photoshop for example.... you'll notice that the picture is clear as normal.. without artefacts or noise..

I'll sleep over that... but now I have to wach Real Madrid-Steaua

anyway.. there is a big diffrence betwen W800 kernel and K750i kernel.. some things are commoun... but my gues is that K750i have much more better kernel camera part.

as for 8.11 will be 1 aksay said that this one will change the world.

Andeo .PM me .. if you read this

catalinux,

Welcome to the test team! Personally I would appreciate full size originals with their EXIF data included (telling about the camera settings used for the photograph) rather than these resized attachments.

You may raed my step-by-step guide how to do clickable thumbnails. The only VERY important detail is - concerning ImageShack: please select the code for websites instead of forums (Step 4 on my guide) because this Esato forum board is "different", if I put it kindly.

I look forward to see the originals...

I'm going to sleep, it's midnight here. Anxious to learn your conclusions, Mark_Q. Thanks for the guide.
