Or maybe we will have to buy a NON SE phone to get a better firmware!

I check this thread from time to time just to see whats new but some of you people are obsessed with getting new firmware. Take a step back and remember how you all waited for 038. Not a bad little firmware update if you dont mind the loss of the large clock (on Orange) and much poorer battery life.

Now you all wait for 039 and beyond, however Im not sure what your all expecting. The K850i is what it is. Its a good phone, but its not a perfect phone nor will it ever be. Its build quality is not great (when compared to the likes of the K800) and its operating system has a few glitches.

I'll admit to being initially dissapointed with the phone after being so impressed when the K800 came out, but with time Ive come to accept it for what it is, and lets be fair, its a pretty decent handset. Its just that we expect so much these days.

Anyway, even though I'll be staying with SE (as I still think they are way ahead of the competition) I'll be very cautious about my next purchase. I'll want the build quality of the K800 and a stable OS along with a great camera.

I dont plan to change my K850i for quite some time, no SE phones on the horizon offer me anything that warrants ditching the K850i, so for now it does the job, however for all of you expecting miracles from a new firmware update, dont waste your time. Its not gonna happen. This model has been on the market for some time, and recently sales have really waned. SE have no reason now to try and perfect the firmware and I can bet you that the focus is now on future handsets.

So to conclude. Accept the K850i for what it is and stop hoping that a software update will ease all your concerns with the handset because it wont. The K850i is a flawed masterpiece. Far from perfect but still a really decent phone in its own right.

What exactly is "so decent" about this 500 euro phone and in which respect is it more decent than similarly priced phones, particularly from "you know who"???

some people here stick with 037 ... with EQ bugs and older camdriver and a lot of bugs in use with HBH-DS980 so f.ex. me waiting for it so long to get my handsfree working with my phone properly ...

Every phone from every respectable manufacturer has got something "decent" about it! The "decency" lies mainly on how much each one charges its customers for its product depending on the number of "decent" features! It also lies on how willing each manufacturer has been to (directly or indirectly) admit that it has overcharged its loyal customers for a myriad of "indecent" features!!!

the best bet is to buy the phone 1 year after it released then ull have a stable firmware, plus it be cheaper, this has happened with the k750 w800 and k800 both where pretty unstable at the start and expensive after a year they where very stable firmware and were alot cheaper £100-£150 mark

@haki,

please stop browsing around the forums in the Internet just saying that K850 is a piece of crap...

The subject of this topic is:the K850 firmware overview,not how willing is a company to admit if it had overcharged its' customers for a phone or something else...

Just return to your K850 temple-forum and quit following me! It's not your business to deter me from expressing my opinion.

In your prayer tonight, do not forget to thank God (once again) for fulfilling your uttermost dream...the ownership of a K850! As for the rest of us, we probably aim higher!!!
