No offense to you,but this is a common problem with people.Memory is nothing without core . Lots of slow cheap memory is worser than small amount of faster memory (as far as gfx is concerned).
In case you want a future proof card,wait for a few months until someone releases mainstream dx10 cards(=shader 4).

That will be a pretty long wait im afraid,8800 was released only few days ago.Main stream part is anticipated to come by feb-mar.And further Ati is launching its high end only at jan,so you will have to pay the premium.
Dx9 will run fine with vista and maybe upgrade later when 2nd gen dx10 cards are out ..

Blu...I tried a lot 2 attach E... Ultimate 2 the mail via Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo etc but 4 some reason didn't work...I'll just upload it 2 megaupload or some server later 2nite & post U the link.
Guys...I ve this big gib problem & need a quick soln...I ve a DVD 2 a *ahem* game which, apperently is a copy writen by a friend (don't know if its downloaded 4m the net or copied 4m a original/p***ted DVD) I m trying 2 install it 2 my comp but whenever I click on install game, the window with the pic & all diff (play, install, readme, directx) cursors, disappears & nothing happens. When I explore & click on the set-up file, it says it aint a valid win 32 exe. I tried 2 make an image with Nero & Alcohol but it stops arround 83% saying read error. I tried basic copy 2 a folder in the HDD & it goes on 4 hrs & stops arround the same 83% saying
"Cannot coppy *******: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)."
WTF do I do...I really need it 2 work...but how???
Pls reply soon or else I'll ve 2 cancel my trip 2 Sillent Hill resort 2nite.
