updated last night...

using 'virgin mobile',
in uk on 'europe 2'.

update using 'update service 2' went fine and loads of things have been made better and fixed etc. was originally trying to use the update service online at sony ericsson's site, but it told me i was updated, when only really on r1n035. all things on first page of this topic for this firmware i have found to be true... i like that when scrolling through pictures, music, videos etc... there is little or no slow down. also music/sounds/calls on headphones and speaker sound a lot clearer than before and the max volume has been increased.

Updated the first post with the new link to SEUS II and adjustments to the instructions. As I have yet to use SEUS II the suggestions when something goes wrong may no longer be applicable.

Any help filling in the Firmware Update table on the first post (i.e. which UK branded phones update to which firmware version) would be much appreciated. PM me the details and I will add them to the post.

Here's an interesting observation of the new R1AA008 F/W. I'm just backing everything up before doing a master reset and format of MS as I'm not happy with file transfers from the phone and thought this might help. I'm still happy with all the other improvements though, especially the increase in ear piece volume. However, the phone already froze once when trying to zoom in on a photo. As usual the SE File Manager keeps dropping out - I had noticed this from when ph was new. But now it goes further - The phone resets itself after a while and then, obviously, fails to copy. It's done twice to me in less than 10 minutes. Try it yourself. While doing so watch your screen and see if you get weird flashing graphics while your transferring files. I hoping a master reset may help the situation. If not I think SE need to hire themselves some good testers. I'll volunteer for sure!! This and the copying from MS to P.C. should have been quickly picked up. If I were testing I would have filled the memory on both the phone and MS and copied both ways. They obviously didn't test this as it has only taken me a few hours to find faults in the new Firmware. Maybe we should rename SE to Microsoft as they seem to need to patch S/W just as frequently to cover bugs!!! I would still say this F/W is better that R1N!!

Can anyone confirm that they have managed to achieve an update of an O2 branded K750i with the stand alond SEUS client. I believe that the client goes through the motions of appearing to update, but restores the R1N035 firmware.

I shocked that it work for an Australion Optus branded phone. Have you download SEUS2? When I ran it it indicated Eu_2 update and ran like a dream. I've got a feeling that a master reset is probably needed to really sort things out.
