Telenor has made a good move, but without 3G tv service wont be very good.

Here in UK networks are offering tv service over 3G, but that a not that good, because of small screen handsets. Hopefully it will get batter by using HSDPA.

I think they (Telenor) should work to get 3G up and runing, or even EDGE.

I know they are offering EDGE in sume part of pakistan. Although they are not manage to cover full citys yet.

Like only the selected areas of lahore are coverd.

I used Telenor TV but the quality is not so good. They'll charge you 449+tax for 30 days access and when you use it, it is very expensive. I think it is Rs. 15 a minute or something like that.

Yes . Telenor tv is very expensive. It will use the one mb in 4 minutes so 15rupees plus tax for 4 minutes of watching.so better download a free tv and use it with the warid or mobilink unlimited gprs.

looters and nothing else. these services are only for people who have alot of black money and they dont know where to spend it. it is not for people like us.

449 p/m for service use and 15rs/mb for channel watching is that what they call cheap. comeon telenor people open ur eyes we are still a 3rd world country.

first give us an unlimited GPRS/EDGE package atleast on postpaid then give these kinds of services.

this is the first time when i disagree with telenor. other wise telenor roks.

I tried Telenor TV using my pre-paid package on my i-mate Jasjam (windows mobile 5 phone). Here are my impressions:-

a) Picture on my QVGA 2.8 inch screen is quite good but the problem is that the picture is quite jerky, i.e. not a smooth flow as on a actual TV.

b) Telenor EDGE normally during web browsing peaks at 100 kilo bits per second in my area but while playing TV it remains steady at 50 Kilo bits per second. This means that the jerky picture is not due to the edge connection being slow but because the program or the phone itself cannot handle connection speed beyond 50 kilo bits per second.

c) Quite expensive. It is a monthly Rs 400 and the Telenor data connection costs Rs 20 / MB including taxes. If the data transfer is steady at 50 kbs this would mean that for a 5 minutes TV content watching you pay Rs 37 per 5 minute. Considering the picture quality this in my view is very expensive.

I think it is not a practical thing but good for boasting to your friends that "Hey look I have TV on my phone". Now what price you are willing to pay for this is your personal choice. At least I would not.

Best Regards
