Mr. Gadget ,
im in Belgium too .
Still no firmwares are available for us . I even called up Sony ericsson support center , even they do not have access to firmware updates .
A shame if you ask me , since I do not see a reasoning behind this .
Bad !! lets move to the US or ot a place where we have access to the most recent firmware version ...
I use my M600i at this moment.... but would like to use my new p990i .. bugfree (or almost bugfree)
it wouldnt matter because you'd have the same cda...so, no update untill they decide to release it for not generic world cda

I bought 5 of these phones (Belgium)
all of them have ;
phone: CXC162037 R4B001
BT : CXC162058 R4F01
Org : CXC162036 R2A04
CDA : CDA162008/55 R1A03
I checked the service menu and there are no locks on this phone .
All of them are working crap .
Waiting for the new firmware might as well take as long as releasing this phone ?
Shall I return the phones and get my money back ?

@CrimInalA
If the all P990s are not working (your description 'crap') then return them.

I've noticed something strange. I'm not sure if I had this problem before I upgraded the firmware. When using WLAN, the amount of data sent and received is not logged in "connection manager". That is, it starts registering traffic, but then it stops usually after a few Kb. Connection time and status (inactive/active) is displayed correctly. Data traffic through GPRS/3G is logged correctly as far I can see.
Can anyone else confirm this?

@ JAH : Crap means crashing , buggy not working good enough for an all days phone .
The users I gave this phone to all want their old phones back anyway .
I cannot keep these phones here and hope for SE to release the new firmwares for us . might as well be 2007 till we see the light .
So yes, returning is my only option .

Yes - I can confirm.
I can also confirm that the WLAN does not work well at all.
Manage to get connection - usually one page with data comes through to the browser - but then it's game over. Clicking on links or trying to open new addresses does nothing at all. The same pages and addresses works just fine via WAP...
