Rambling post after rambling post. Just the preverbal: "Nokia sucks". What a great and thought out argument from a supposed "almost 30 year old" with a child no less. Can anyone say therapy?

For the most party this has been a great thread with plenty of ideas of what SE and Nokia can do to create better phones and ensure customer demands. ALl of this was done without the "Nokia sucks" diatribes that come this way often from those with no real discussion skills.

If the P1 came with the things you mention even with out the GPS that would certainly of grabbed my attention. I really don't understand why as it is going to arrive 1 year after the initial UIQ3 devices it doesn't have a greatly improved spec as it is meant to be the next generation surely that is what it deserves and IMO would of put SE up there with their competition.

As yet no one is sure just how much the E90 will be but it is already in the coming soon section for 02 so will be available with contract. Just a shame no one on 02 will be using it with their insane Data charges. I am very likely to buy it from on 02 and then just debrand it and use it with my T-Mobile Web N Walk Sim.

If it didn't have gps it would still be behind, so you'd have to pay for it just like everyone would pay for it in a nokia.

The price for the e90 I've seen is £650+ (on foneplanet) and the lady in cpw suggested to me 700+.

I don't think many are willing to pay that kinda money for p1i with the spec I mentioned, not even the price that sap quoted.

Also the p1i is unlikely to cost 650 euros, one of the se people said similar price to p990 at launch apparently on a youtube vid and since its mass market that will fall too with supply, I'd guess and say around £350 soon after launch.

Anyway we'll see the prices for sure, soon enough.

@sap

You should provide a link for all the people that want an e90 at a cheap? £540, but personally I'd rather have a real computer and money to spare.

www.maifon.net/ ---- do a search on the 3G links and it will come up.
http://www.verkkokauppa.com/ ---- do a search for the E90

@londonlad123

That may be the price that the P990 dropped quite quickly to owing to it's problems but the launch price was closer to £600 and SE has said it will cost the same as the P990 on launch. So the quoted suggested retail price which has come form someone that has had a preview unit and very well established contacts within SE of 650 euros or approx £450 is very realistic IMO i seriously doubt it will launch as low as £350 but only time will tell and not long to wait either way.

Do you think anyone here cares what you think or what you say? Do you really? Your posts are proof enough that you have very few coherent thoughts in your head. You get the award as the #1 thread de-railer, now move along will you. There are some serious people here having serious discussion that don't revolve around, "Nokia sucks" type of statements.

@sapp...,
I really see where you're coming from, but maybe you should just ignore plankgattan...as you'd best ignore a spanner(EDIT: SPAMMER!!! )?! Offending, even the offensive, will just escalate this downward spiral, won't it? A similar thread was locked a few hours ago!
Be the bigger wo/man!? Let him talk... i still think he's just taking the p*ss

Dogmanm, the issue of Nokia having taken so long to get their touchscreen together is a good point (we don't even know if they will be able to do it properly on first release - they had issues with it in s90 so I see no reason they will magically make it work without any bugs or troubleshooting in s60), since it shows that SE are by no means the only one to have been trailing in some area of technology.

I maintain that SE are leading the field in JAVA, non-smartphone features and UI's, touchscreens and camera phone sensors and camera phone UI's. As far as I'm concerned SE are leading edge in these areas leaving Nokia behind. So if SE "failing to produce good phones", then so are Nokia and all other OEM's.

So what Nokia lead in HSDPA, video recording and wifi? That simply doesn't translate to "SE failing to produce good phones".

Hey Max,

Not sure where you get the fact that Nokia is falling behind in Java, and non-smartphone features, UI's, etc... For the most part, I would say they are similar but with Nokia pulling away in terms of diversity and the willinginess to put higher technology into their phones. Right now, the current SE phones are just re-hashes of what is already there with possibly a higher pixel rate here or there. From a purely technological prospective, Nokia is a bit ahead of SE, and pulling away. It is not about who makes a "better" phone in my opinion. For me it is about supporting my computing platform, and providing new and better technologies in phones. In this SE falls well short of the mark.

wooaahh sapporobaby, you really got me there.
(i really give a shit what you ignore)

on topic.

max_wedge, im totally agree what you say. the headline is completley false. certainly, SE isnt world leading on video recording, etc (the could be if they wanted, Sony have awesome routine with video technology). but i know why SE dosent
stake on video recording. for the first its demands optical zoom (at least 3 x or something) if you want some god dame quality, for second, the phone will get to large (like N93 or something), and thats not the thought about theirs Cybershoots models.
im sure that next SE Cybershoot (K850i), is nearly the same slim like k810i.
